Exactly. Cleaning and spacing if necessary. And a normal spark plugs cost less than 100. Which is better? Cleaning or replacement? Hence the mechanics prefer changing it at every service. It saves them time.
Volkswagen uses NGK PLATINUM IRIDIUM plugs and it's scheduled to be changed every 30k. It costs a bomb - 4000 incl. Labour. This is just ridiculous as platinum iridium plugs can easily last 80k.
