Polo will be very well priced, have a good set of engines, will be fun to drive, will be spacious, build quality and features will be up to usual German standards. The only thing to look out for is the ASS, and this alone might deter people from buying the Polo.

nice video mate, looks good and perfect for indian conditions.its 1.2L engine gives enough power to satisfy indian buyers as archit said.Only thing to look out is its pricing VW charts out and its ASS which has to be at par with japs and koreans if not above them.

So, from what I read, the diesel hatchback is going to be a 1.2 diesel. Any idea how much this might be priced at? I know the debate is on, but if someone can share a little inside information, it would certainly help [:)]

VW Polo Prices to start from 4.25 lacs;2Petrol & 1 Diesel Variant.

The chiseled Volkswagen Polo with its Scirocco inspired styling will debut at the Delhi Auto Expo next year in both petrol and diesel options. The company’s new facility in Pune will manufacture the hatchback and follow it up with a sedan and possibly a MPV and station wagon in the future.

The India-spec Polo in addition to the manual transmission, will be supplemented with an automatic transmission. Production of the Polo is set to begin early next year.

The sedan variant of the Polo, as we reported earlier, will be longer and wider to offer more legroom and comfort to rear passengers. This particular variant could compete with the likes of the Dzire, Indigo and Fiesta when it comes out next year.

Right from the beginning, VW is targeting a localization level of fifty percent for the hatchback. The Chakan plant in Pune, in full flow, will have an annual capacity of 1.1 lakh cars which it says will take 4 to 6 years to reach.

The company is eyeing a 8-10 percent market share by this period. After the Polo, the company is also planning on introducing a whole crate of other VW models from hatchbacks to imports.

I think for the expected price, Polo has a good scope here. It looks good, solid build, good ride and handling and engines. What VW should do is spread its dealership base, unlike Skoda. And also keep a check on spares cost for a long life.

Polo can definitly be a hit.
All we need to see now is what all features Volks Wagen offers on the base variant.
