Swamiji on top of the Maxi cab was looking very cute. I think the Indian Coast Guard is not camping there now. There presence were there during the LTTE trouble.

Around 11:00am:

Previous day, we had no time to stop and enjoy Pamban bridge. So we decided to stop over there.

On the way to Pamban bridge:


First I stopped before entering the Pamban bridge to take some snaps. while taking snaps I found a train on Pamban railway bridge, so headed towards the Pamban bridge to see how the Train passing Pamban railway bridge.

After spending some 40Mins at Pamban bridge, we started our trip towards Vellore. Next day I've to be in office at Chennai. So skipped other places in Rameshwaram.

Route taken: Rameshwaram - Devakottai - Karaikudi - Pudukottai - Trichy - Thirukovilur - Tiruvanamalai - Vellore > 500Kms

From Rameshwaram to Karaikudi roads are two lane. but in good condition. at Karaikudi my GPS asked me to take Bye-pass. In the Bye-Pass for 5Kms, the road is full of big big holes. even lorries struggling on that road. I was thinking of go back to take town road. But to my surprise, I found a newly layed road there. Once I entered that road, it directly took me to Trichy. But the road has some diversions. At Puthukottai, the Bye-pass is not yet completed, so we have to enter into town. Till Trichy the road was Excellent.

We had Lunch at Trichy at some Bye-pass hotel. Taste was not good. After having lunch, we headed towards Vellore. The Road are really Excellent through out the way

Around 7:00Pm we reached home safelyat Vellorewith 1637.3Kms



Through out the trip, Whity done her Job well and Good.

Best Mileage in the trip : 18Kmpl(Speed: 110-120Kmph with A/C ON)
Worst Mileage : 15KMPL ( Speed : 130-150Kmph with A/C ON)

There is no road link to Srilanka now. It was there years back and now it is under the sea.

Basically, Ramaswaram is an island and the bridge over the sea is connecting it from the main land. The train is going to Rameswaram, a couple of kms away from the bridge and that is the last station and terminus.

The Pamban Bridge connecting Rameshwaram Island with TamilNadu.

The Train was coming from Madurai to Rameshwaram local passenger

I'm fine. how about you? Long time no see?

BTW, the road condition from Trichy to Karaikudi via Puthukottai is excellent. It is a newly laid broad 2lane road with fair markings and sign boards. you can maintain 100Kmph without any disturbance. But, at some places, the by-pass roads are under construction, so you need to enter into town.

Apart from that you can enjoy the drive with your fiesta.

P.S: from Trichy, take airport road to reach Karaikudi road. there is a chance to miss this Airport road. Even I have missed it couple of times.

Holy! That was so fast!

Doing fine machi. Held up with heavy work and relatively free for the rest of 2014.

Sounds great. Didn't know that. I used to travel to my native place which is near aruppukottai via madurai. Later realised that I can take trichy - karaikudi road which is 25 kms lesser!

Fiesta is sleeping in the garage and gave shelter to some non-wire eating rats! I just clean the poop once in a week

Time for a meeet! I'll have a check on the airport road mate!
