Thanks AppU for the detailed images as always you do in your Travelogues.
Why cant we take our vehicle if it is 4x4 ? will they allow or you have to be in their vehicle?

Haunted place ! Scary feeling ! Will definitely visit there once.
Thanks again
Absolutely no restriction from any one. But the truth is only those vehicles can make it. You need to be an expert driver to drive there. I had seen a Fortuner got sunk in the sand, and the people were struggling to move it.

Yes appus, As like Ram sir said, we need to expert to drive our 4*4 on those area. The cab drivers following some lane and at some places I can able to spot some big stones and landmarks. they are following the landmarks very perfectly and the cabs are altered to 4*4 locally.

Ram Sir: I heard somewhere, that reducing the air pressure in 4*4 will help the cars to perform on those area. Is it True?

Appu very nice TL. planning to have a TN trip this November. will pm you for planning an itinerary
Thank you SR, Let me know about your trip, sure I can help you [:)]

Thanks for those refreshing pics.

Looks like crowd was less.
Heard from our guide that Kshatriya movies was shot in Dhanushkodi.

We had approximately paid 148/- per head during the peak season of year end.
There seems to be a construction near that temple, that structure with roof was not there.
Yes Mukesh. I too felt the crowd was less and I too heard that Kshatriya film was shot there. Even I remember, that I saw those places in some other Tamil films also. But, I can't recollect the Name of the films.

I think now all the constructions are completed there.

Yes waiting for the old tree and the ruins of church, small well of sweet water.

Thanks for posting the pics of Pamban bridge which I had missed during my trip.

Did you happen to visit Gulf of Mraine Zoo?

Buddy, Still I not posted any Pamban bridge pics here in TL. The sea which you saw is the point where we parked our Vista before getting the cab.

Nope Mukesh, I've not visited Gulf of Mraine Zoo due to time constraint[cry]

More pics are on the way :)

@Appu

Excellent pics buddy !! where are the pics of the Ram sethu and pics where you can see Srilanka from Dhanushkodi

Here I'm attaching the Pics with arrow symbol. I heard that, there is a sand dunes/Island for every 1Km interval till Srilanka.

From here we can see the Sand Dunes/Island, but my digital camera is not capable to capture the Island[frustration]

Continuation..

Next we landed at Dhanushkodi town. I never though the town will be like that. Everything was ruined. the Ruined walls,Railway station Platform, Post office tells the story of Cyclone.

Still some people are living there without Electricity, proper drinking water and transportation. We enqiured a old lady, she said that the Moon light is enough to be there in Night time[cry].

Just Imagine guys, How this area will be in Night time.

By the time was 6:30pm, all the cabs are started to return from the dhanushkodi town. came to know from the cab driver, that previously they shown sunset at the Dhaushkodi beach for the tourists, but now the coast guards not allowing the people to stay after 5:30Pm, because some people smuggling "Ganja" from Srilanka to India. So coast guards are very strict now a days.

Good Job Coast guards[clap]

Great set of pictures and updates AppU.
Is that 100Rs per person is for total round trip or one way? What is the maximum time one can spend there if you are going with some cabs ? They may want to do multiple trips right?
What is the total KM from Rameshwaram to this Dhanushkodi ? Any idea ?

You got a big Ganesha in your Vista [:)]. Nice photos

Yes, Rs.100 is for Too and fro. I feel Rs.100 is cheap.

What is the maximum time one can spend there if you are going with some cabs ?
At the Beach point they are giving 30mins time to spend and at the Dhaushkodi town around 20Mins, You can spend your time very relax.

They may want to do multiple trips right?
First I too thought that they will drop and pick up later. But, the cabs will wait till you return[:)]

What is the total KM from Rameshwaram to this Dhanushkodi ? Any idea ?
From Rameshwaram Town to dhaushkodi cab point is around 10Kms. from Dhaushkodi cab point to Beach point approx 6-9Kms.

You got a big Ganesha in your Vista . Nice photos
Yes Buddy, I got this Ganesh at Sabarimala temple [:)]

Before entering Rameshwaram town, we all had a Tea and decided to visit "Ramar Padam". It is the highest point in Rameshwaram. We reached there around 7:30pm. but the temple was about to close. So we returned to car and had some snacks which we took from home.

Still we not booked any room at Rameshwaram to stay for the night, Finally booked room in the Hotel where Mastiandroid stayed.

The room condition was above the average and the Hotel is just opposite to the temple. The car parking is just behind the hotel and it has another entrance. In the parking area, I found Mastiandriod's cute Nano. Believe me guys, His Nano is very cute than I expected. I shown his Nano to my parents. While showing the room-boy who came to shift the luggage from my Vista to room also joined to check his Nano.

As Mastiandriod planned to start his trip in the early morning, he went to temple in the Night itself. But we(Me and My parents) planned to go in the morning. So we refreshed in the room and joined with Mastiandriod for the Dinner.

Day 4:18/08/2103

Around 6:00Am I received a call from Mastiandriod saying that he starting his trip to Banglore. I wished him a happy Journey

Around 7am we all woke up and went to "Agni Teertham" (Beach), which is present just opposite to East Goupram. Once we reached there, we came to know that we need to take bath at Agni Teertham which is nothing but Beach, then have to go to temple. Inside Temple there are 22 wells are there and it is the main procedure to take bath in 22wells. So we had a bath in Agni Teertham and went to temple and brought Rs.25. There is a Sign board inside the temple showing the direction for every well in order-wise. Once we finished the bath in all the wells, we have to change our dress and have to visit god. There is proper dress room for Gents and Ladies separately.

As Our room was just opposite to temple, we changed our dress in room and went to Temple and had a wonderful dharshan of God and Goddess.

Rameshwaram temple is one of the Majestic temple. from outside it never look like such a Majestic temple.

Inside the Temple,What a Majestic architecture..

Few shares from Wiki:

Rameswaram - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are sixty-four Tīrthas or Theerthams (holy water bodies) in and around Rameswaram. According to the Skanda Purana, twenty-four of them are important. Of the 24, 14 are in the form of tanks and wells within the precincts of the temple.[2] Bathing in these tanks is a major aspect of the pilgrimage to Rameswaram and is considered equivalent to penance. Twenty-two of the tanks are within the Ramanathaswamy Temple. The foremost one is called Agni Theertham, the sea (Bay of Bengal). Jatayu, King of the Birds, who fought in vain with the demon-king Ravana to save Sita, is said to have fallen down at Jadayu Theertham as his wings were severed.[68] Villoondi Theertham literally translates to ‘buried bow’, is located around 7 kilometres from the main temple on the way to Pamban.[68] It is believed to be the place where Rama quenched the thirst of Sita by dipping the bow into the sea water.[68] Other major holy bodies are Hanuman Theertham, Sugreeva Theertham and Lakshmana Theertham.[68]

All the formalities are finished around 10:00Am and had Breakfast Just opposite to the Hotel we stayed. After packing all the luggage we called room-boy and arranged the bags in Vista. Room-boy asked me, where is that Nano. I informed him that Nano started to Bangalore in Early morning itself.
