The balancing mustve been the Major chunk, cost of weights et all.
Could be... Let's just do a quick math.

Generally, WA is somewhere between 200 - 350 / WB is 50 - 75 per tyre + Weight which is generally 50 ps - 1 Re per gram = 375 + Weights (5 Wheels in Varun's case). So considering 300 for WA & 400 for WB, Camber work could have been 300?

Here is the detail (prices may vary)

Wheel Alignment - 250 rs
Camber Adjustment - 300 rs
Wheel Balancing - (each 100 rs) 500rs (alloy wheel) (steel wheels = 75 rs, I guess)
Weights - Depends on how much they use- so 200 rs

Total comes upto 1250 Rs.

Here in kerala, i didnt see any WA/WB shops charging for the weights while balancing. Most of the tire shops charge only rs.50 per tire. WA charge will be different. Cars which have rear wheel alignment they will charge either 250/300 rs.

M800 has camber adjust? I thougth it only has toe adjustment (direction of wheels) and when camber is out of spec is because you have one piece of the suspension damaged..

Hi Guys,

My car's steering is slighting to the left while driving straight. It's very little deviation and is almost unnoticeable. Should i be worried?

They adjust it by re-welding the hub mount points, by doing this way camber is adjusted.

No need to worry, but keep an eye on uneven tire wear may be after 1000 kms.

I have got the camber adjusted on my car. They charge 300 rs per wheel. This is done only on independent suspensions.

They re-weld the hub mounting points on the struts as per the measurement so that hub mounts according to the measurement.

Even caster can be adjusted if there is a slight difference. They just add a washer at the balance rod (stabilizer bar connecting to lower arm). Usually done for older vehicles (sumo, indica, omni, 800 etc). I have also seen them filing the strut mounts so that it can be adjusted accordingly. (Commonly seen on indica's).

Hi Figoian : You need to get the balancing done on all the wheels, even if there is a slight bend on the rim it will effect the entire suspension system also causes uneven tire wear. The wheel bearings get damaged on long run.

I gues Figo comes with independent suspension at rear rite ? They even align the rear wheels too. (if independent suspension)

If your car is not designed with camber and caster adjustment refrain from doing it.

Heavy test and measurement are done prior to release of a car.
I have personally seen that at TATA.

Eg for 800 there is only toe adjust.
if you have damaged the camber or caster . replace the lower arms and strud assy - which ever is needed .

Adding unnessary shims for a non camber and caster adjustment car is like you are stressing at another point!
