Re: Floating Planet Drives Down Here: Juipiter!

@Mr. Vijay
I had an small accident on my Wego and the Side stand's paint and brake lever's paint gone. The main issue is the crash guard's(near front indicator) bolting screw is not there. Took it to a roadside mechanic and he said that the screw is broken and half screw is inside and the plastic (the interior plastic which has the glove box) needs to be removed completely and then the screw must be removed.
What to do?

Sorry to hear that rsvb.Take it to the ASS nearby, they would remove the half cut screw from the plastic mould, get the box and body refit again and fit the accessory unit again with the newer screw.
If you are sure with the road side mechanic would do the job right way then go ahead, as i have seen while doing so they would make marks on the inside plastic body panel while getting this done.
Can you post a picture of that broken bolt area?

I thought doing from a roadside mechanic will void warranty. thats why i said him to stop the process.
Will the ASS charge for it?

Yours is under warranty right, and the accessories were choosen from the dealers place so best is to visit the ASS and get it rectified.
Mostly they would charge the labours, not sure though.
Have seen cases where its been charged as well as not.

Done with the First Servicing. 780 on ODO. Milege 50-51 Kmpl.
Havnt put any Accessories till now, as it ruins the looks. But 1 accident without accesories, and I am doomed. Thinking of getting atleast the guard for front mudguard, which is too vulnerable to scratches.

completed 2K on the odo today morning while coming to office.
Main stand issue still remains and i got a call from the service centre to get it changed as they have received the new stands from the company.
Would get that done in this week.
Apart from engine roar which i feel is louder compared to activa or access but i like it[evil] enjoying the ride.

Re: Floating Planet Drives Down Here: Juipiter!

My younger brother rode the bike for 350 Km in 4 hours today(Total 500 kms in 2 days). Though every thing is ok, I just want to know, what is the limitation of a scooter?? Does it stresses the engine more than a bike?
And yes, he is totally fit. I am not concerned about him a bit. [lol][;)]

I think that scooters do have more enclosed engines than Bikes. Also there is no temp gague, as a result we will not know about overheating etc. Please advise your Bro to ride max 2 hours and then turn off the scooter.

Once my Uncle tried Riding a Kinetic Honda from one city to other (to deliver the scooter as he was shifitng jobs) and upon reachin 300KM he was totally freaked out to see Smoke coming from undersides. Ofcourse tech might have improved now but basics remain the same.

Yes, it does seem too much for the engine. Hopefully nothing has happened. Kinetic Honda at you have mentioned, was 2 stroke, hence more heat. I hope, new scoots dont generate that much heat.
Tell you frankly, I am scared now. [confused]

OT
@Mr. Sambit
I heard that 4-stroke engines produce more heat because of more moving parts compared to 2-stroke engines. Anyhow, 4-stroke engines have better cooling systems (compared to the engines manufactured in the 90's).

First of all, there is a typo in Time. Its not 4, but 8 Hours.
LoL. 350 in 4 hrs!!!! Funnily, Nobody noticed !!

Any ways, no sign of any problem with the bike. He claimed, he did not exceed speed above 60-70 kmph. Engine oil level is Perfect aswell. But I will change it soon, as after reading your posts, I doubt, the viscosity would have taken a toll with too much heat generated.

Yes, being a scooter run-in period, it will generate more heat.
I am speaking with experience. My Wego turned into a Iron Box after riding for 13 kms itself (when we took out of the showroom).
And, never give your TVS scooter to Pickup&Drop service. We gave our scooter for first service through this and I must say that the guys who picked up the scooter were the most rash drivers I have ever seen. They went 90+ kmph in RK Mutt Road (I saw a Wego zooming me at wind speed while I was coming from School and identified that it was our scooter!!!)!

hmmm,
we being car guys didn't notice it. 60 is also quite high for a scooter, esp in run in. . I think most optimal is 40-50 ?

do check the Oils and let us know.

The ride feels all the same till 60Kmph. Then until 75, there is a little change in note from the exhaust. Then till 88, the engine feels stressed(It doesnt touch 90Kph mark, may be because I am 90 Kg myself.).
I am really curios to know, what is the longest has a rider done on his gearless scooter? Ha anybody been to Ladakh on an Activa(it being the most common scoot)? If you know?
