ramji thats a good idea.[clap] i never read about it anywhere though.
Even I never read it anywhere. It was only my attempt and I succeeded.

How was the stretch between Rotang Pass and Manali? Even I couldn't make it when I was in Manali due to heavy snowfall. And I think that road will be closed for few months during winter.

the rohtang pass usually gets snowed out by the middle of november and opens only by the middle of march. the road between rohtang and manali is narrow mountain road with beautiful scenery. while we were there it was raining and i felt that there would be lanslides as the mountain sides were water logged. at some places there indeed was blockages due to rocks falling on to the road.

We rode on enjoying the views of the barren mountains. and we reached pang by 2 pm. we had lunch from there from a local dhaba. noodles, omelette & tea. we bought biscuits, maza etc. just out side of pang was a bridge when sheena and suresh saw a road leading to the waters edge. they immediately wanted to clean the storm and i backed the vehicle to the waters edge. the river water was very cold & we spent nearly 1.5 hours cleaning the dust from the inside of the vehicle. we also filled diesel in the tank from the plastic cans. we could almost fill the diesel in both the cans. we decided to discard the can and the little amount of diesel in it. we drove back to pang and gave the can to the lady who ran the dhaba. the lady thanked suresh and asked us to have something from her shop in return. we declined and drove on.

The mountains were all amazingly shaped. Something very unique for this kind of terrain. We enjoyed having them for company while our ride [:)]
Great pics SR [clap] Just reliving the days I spent there. Longing to go back already[cry]

SR, you have the perfect vehicle to conquer those terrains, roads and off-roads.

It looks bright under the sun or probably after the wash.

after nakeela wifey was feeling more tired and nauseous. she vomitted once and i was concerned. when i checked her oxygen level it was alarmingly low at 74 %. i gave the drivers seat to suresh and the made her travel in the co passenger seat so that i could monitor her better. i gave her oxygen to breathe which made her better. i thought of stopping at sarchu for the night but decided against it as the altitude was higher and it might worsen her situation at night. we decide to push on. we stopped briefly at bharathpur for a tea. baralacha la went by. we rolled on. we decided to stay at jispa. to make matters worse about 6 kms before jispa , a creaking sound started from the left front wheel[frustration], seemed like the brake shoe had jammed. i asked suresh to go on. we reached jispa by 10pm took rooms at padma guest house. inr 1200/ room. had buffet dinner. wifey became better after dinner and i was relieved.
