Congratz Bro for ur BRIO. Urban Titanium looks suuper hot.

Can you provide the price split up (ex showroom price, insurance, road tax, ex warranty etc) to make a comparison with my brio smt bought last month.

I paid 4,77,668. The discount of 37273 comprised of insurance (13273), cash discount (20000) and free accessories (4000). I did not opt for extended warranty and RSA.

Made a short trip of around 350 kms (Delhi-Alwar-Delhi) yesterday in my Brio. Road was good. I got around 18 kmpl for this trip with AC on for most of the time and speed around 90-100 kmph. I was expecting slightly higher mileage, around 19-20 kmpl.

One irritating thing is that the tyre noise is high. It may have something to do with the tyre brand itself i.e. JK Tyres. Otherwise, the car is very fun to drive and quick in any traffic condition. Loved the driving very much.

Visited Automax Honda’s Naraina Service Centre for second service due at six months. They have free pick up and drop facility but I had some issues to discuss with them so decided to go there myself. My issues were:
(i) AC cooling was very ineffective. Even at around 9 in the morning, it was not cooling properly. So, you can understand its effectiveness when heat is at its peak, i.e. afternoon.
(ii) Inspection of the proportioning valve. My car was manufactured during the time under inspection but I got no message from the dealer/company regarding its inspection so decided to remind the service centre about the same.

Besides these two issues, there were some scratches that needed to be touched up. Service advisor assigned to me was good. Regarding proportioning valve, he said that it was being checked for every car which was manufactured in that particular span of time. My car’s valve was checked. As it was from D series, it was not to be replaced.

For AC issue, they checked and found that gas levels were on lower side. They assured that there was no leakage or any other serious issue. Car was taken to Automax’s Mayapuri service station for filling the gas as the same was not available at Naraina centre on that day. The problem was rectified and I felt the improvement in the AC cooling.

Total bill was Rs. 1437 which was for oil. It was my first trip to a service station and experience was good.

Cool NH08... Good to hear that your issues got rectified.
I will suggest you to go for extended warranty & undercover body treatment (can be done from outside).
Mine Brio has done 28K (2.3 years old) with daily driving of around 60K, did a trip agra, two to himachal (450km one side) and one to chandigarh... I just love driving it because of its peppy engine :)
Bad thing is only scratches which I have good on almost all side :( They aren't big enough to be claimed from insurance and aren't small enough to be ignored :( I feel bad everytime when I see my brio from outside.

Mine has done only 1800 kms in 6 months as no daily driving is involved. For journey to my office, I use my two wheeler or the natural two wheels that god has given me (my legs ). So, such low running.

And scratches are inevitable in this mad, crowded city. I had a couple of them which were taken care of by this second service.

My car is due for insurance renewal in December end this year. However, I started getting calls from various insurance companies (including from my dealer) 15-20 days ago i.e. around 2 and half months before due date. Is this normal?

Secondly, my dealer has offered Rs. 9200 (normal policy) and around 12000 for zero dep. They say these rates include all discounts. Car is manufactured in November 2013 and no claim has been made till date. Is the premium OK?

VX has Dual Airbags & ABS while V comes only with ABS. Airbags on mid version were there initially when Brio was launched. Now it isn't there.
Are you planning to buy one ?

But problem is all the models are giving these saftey features in their top end model , which is way out of my budget.

They should give optional for midvariants

Ya, that's true. Earlier airbags were optional with SMT model and that was called S(O)MT. But due to limited demand they might have discontinue it.
But AFAIK Brio will have an upgrade soon. After upgrade we may get safety features optional in mid variant. But if your budget is 6, I think you can get VMT in that in bangalore, Have you checked with brio dealer about on road price.

Another option can be to wait a little for New Jazz model. Earlier jazz had ABS and Airbags standard in all the variant. They might do the same again, though I doubt that.

Hi NH08,
Its very much normal, these days dealer are becoming hyper active while selling insurance.
I too was amazed when dealer started call me 3 months before my insurance was due.

I would advice you to check with other honda dealer too and stick with Honda Assure if you can.

I renewed my insurance thorough Courtesy honda, there quotes were best. For the same thing other honda dealers were asking for 1K more.
