^^ Running board kit was stuck with 3M tape at door sills. Front secured with wheel liner clips and to running board weld joint with provided metal clips.

Grave QC error from Ford's side, on rear kit.

First, wrong side marking.

2017-11-04 19-06-54.JPG

Wrong mount. There were 3 mounts. Edge ones were supposed to be flush with the kit and middle one was to bulge out. All 3 mounts were bulging, making fit impossible.

2017-11-04 19-07-17.JPG

Cut, sanded and bathed is superglue. Strong flat mount.

2017-11-04 19-10-17.JPG

Bought a pair of horn. Minda Harmony for a change. Install went side by side with kit install. Bulkier than regular Bosch/Roots Windtones. Sound is premium bassy, but harsh. MRP ₹ 620.00 plus ₹ 50.00 for L clamps.

Custom clamp (2 L clamps combined) & OE clamp for symmetry.

2017-11-12 13-47-34.JPG
2017-11-12 13-47-40.JPG

Second OE horn location, under LH headlamp.

2017-11-12 14-35-51.JPG

First tried removing the bumper for clean kit and horn install, but number of bolts and their weird location, made me think twice. Ended up removing headlights, which made is so much easy.

2017-11-12 14-35-59.JPG

Kit bolted. Front ones need either underbody protector removed or headlight removed for install. Rear is easily accessible under without removing anything. Bought a tonne of 10 mm flange bolt and extra washer.

2017-11-12 15-29-56.JPG

Cross member attachment, reminds me of a locomotive. Never seen such a rigid fitting.

2017-11-12 15-30-12.JPG

Horn location.

2017-11-12 15-51-22.JPG

Not symmetric as expected. Will change the OE clamp with twin L-clamp combo ASAP. Removing the bolt behind number plate loosens up bumper a bit, leaving enough room to work around, its a torx bolt.

2017-11-12 15-51-33.JPG

Googly. Horn connector turns out to be mini clips.

2017-11-12 16-07-17.JPG

OE horns were FIAMM make. 9A each/pair, making things lot easy. Minda was 10A/pair.

2017-11-12 16-07-44.JPG

Custom converter, mini to normal Bosch clips. Glue gun helped secure it to connector and prevent moisture.

The template car. Vichu's 1.6, without which bumper kit install would have been impossible. Was counting stars after screwing up the rear bumper with holes through its length and breadth, just before calling him up for rescue.

2017-11-12 07-51-20.JPG

1.6S got pre-holed bumper. Seen many Fiesta's with added kits and all looked weird because of the improper install. Understood after trying that it is impossible to fit without an S for reference. Trial and error wont work out. Kit is kind of floating with only top part in contact with body and bottom free. Most try matching bottom with bumper edge and then drill hole, which makes it really odd.

Cruising 120s was ease. Could do 140 effortless, even more. Mileage was 11-13 kmpl.

Changed dome light to warm white LEDs.

Normal white lacks that premium feel (le vichu [lol])

Grill looked faded. Painted matt metallic black.

Hello to all Fiesta lovers!! Amazing car and mods done by deville_56.[clap]

I am a new member to this forum and also a proud owner of a pre-owned Fiesta Classic CLXI 1.6 petrol model. The car is in pristine condition and has only run 30,000 when i bought it around 20 days back. I am looking forward to learn valuable insights on this amazing car from you guys.

I am currently based in New Delhi and there are no problems in sourcing spare parts for the car over here. I also have a trusted mechanic who has worked on all of our cars for almost 2 decades. But by the end of this year, I will be moving to Kerala (Changanacheri, near Kottayam to be precise) and also will be bringing my Fiesta. Hence, I would require your feedback on the following points:

1) How is the spare parts availability for this car in Kerala?

2) Can you recommend any good mechanic / garages in Kottayam area who has experience with Ford cars?

3) How is the experience with the Ford Authorised Service Centres in or around Kottayam? Please also provide the dealer names.

Thanks

Welcome to Kerala.

Ford diesel parts don't have any issue here in Kerala as there are lot of Fiestas and Figos, so do the common shared parts.

Near Changanassery, there are 2 dealers.
One at Kottayam, which is Kairali Ford, which has over the counter part sales, which is approximately 20 km from CHRY. Dealer experience is mixed. In Trivandrum, they used to be rogue, but competition improved them.
Second one is in Alappuzha, CBC Ford. I see good reviews in Google. Not sure about part sales. It is about 30 km from CHRY.

After settling down, can inquire locally for FNGs.

Thanks, im actually from Kerala only, so this is more like a second or rather third homecoming :)

Mine is actually a petrol 1.6, not a diesel but going by your answer spares and service shouldnt be a problem.

I have read about Kairali Ford and their bad reputation. Will enquire about CBC Ford and also look at FNGs.

Must say im very much intrigued by your mods. Keep us posted on the same. Cheers
