2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE300d recalled due to potentially faulty airbag
Mercedes-Benz Australia has issued a recall of three examples of its 2019 GLE300d wagon (MY19) due to potentially faulty side airbags.
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says the "side airbags on this vehicle may deploy with excessive force and might not meet the requirements of UN-R135" – a safety standard relating to side impacts.
Affected cars were sold between 1 February 2019 and 30 September 2019. Mercedes-Benz Australia is contacting owners to organise a free inspection and repair if necessary.
