Its a tie between the duster and ertiga! amazing.
Duster...not sure why i did it may be my mouse did. hmmm.
To be frank wasn't at all impressed with the dusters review at first cos that was the time when ppl were high on the xuv 500.
Than i saw this episode on 'Fifth Gear' talking about the renault.

. I can very well say that most of the Duster votes are just due to it's appeal and not performance. I've driven both of them and believe me, Storme can eat Duster for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Duster scores over Storme in just one area as per my needs and that is seating position.

Well it looks like Duster is flying and Ertiga is trying hard to catch up. BTW, Ertiga has already filled that 40-50 votes gap to a large extent.
Buddy I am sure you drove Duster '84' not the one with 108 horses under the hood. Because the Duster '108' eats up even the XUV too.

I drove the 110PS top model as Renault Noida have only that one as TD vehicle. The accelerator pedal is so bad. For initial 3-4 cms pressed it hardly moves the vehicle and then you have to press it hard (like our old indica) and then we get decent speeds and this is not due to turbo, the pedal is like that only. And bro, I still stand by my words that Storme could and would eat Duster anyday, anytime and any terrain.

Reason for Duster popularity
1.People like it because it is from a french company
2.They like its seating position and its looks exactly like a mini SUV where more of them are comfortable with a SUV but should be bit small
3.Pricing also big criteria, BUT
All these people will realise after a year or so once the performance or maintenance problems keep coming up as this is new to Indian market and road conditions, less ASS network and costly spares, so the real heat will be then.

Hmm, actually I am yet to drive even a single car in my life(not only Duster) whose accelerator has 3-4 cms of lifeless travel but since you are telling it, so maybe true.
When I drove Duster, it was actually flying, only you needed to keep it above 1500(like any other turbo diesel). Okay what you have to say on the performance when turbo is live?? I personally find it better than even XUV, awaiting your take. But Storme for sure is sluggish in front of Duster at least..FOR ME.
Then why aren't PULSE and SCALA and KOLEOS doing such numbers?
It is abig advantage in city driving especially. Also Duster offers fantastic ride quality as well as good mile munching capability and FE is unknown to none.
It is overpriced, many people say that. Even some owners too say the same.

My Vote goes for Ertiga and the main reason for that is the sheer VFM th LUV offers.
Even though the Duster is leading the race, its because of lack of competitors in the compact SUV segment and the kingdom is soon going to be evaded by other manufacturers like Ford(Ecosport) , VW(Taigun) and Maruti(XA Alpha).
