Update @36000 kms.

Dad took it for outstation trip and was very impressed with the vehicle, such that he took it for a 360 in plain ground and this:

[lol]

He didn't notice a stone which was ahead while exiting the site plot

So I took it yesterday to get the quote to replace the bumper @Concorde Motors Diary circle and got a quote of 10k to replace the bumper [frustration], the service guy said he can fix the type 1 bumper as I had asked for the old one and wasn't a fan of new one. The insurance guy denied and said the new one will only be replaced and he said that he can pay up 50% of the cost rest should come out from my pocket.

I was very uncomfortable paying so much for just a bumper what made things worse was that he told he needs to keep the car minimum 5 days in the workshop.

So I called up Varun, went to his place and together we went to Prerna Motors Spares shop at Mysore road and bought the type 1(Old Model) bumper and clutch kit which totally cost me 7k Change, break-up as follows:

1) Front Bumper Full: 3k
2) Clutch Kit: 3k

With all the taxes and charges, the bill came up to 7k

Have given it to our Mechanic and it's getting prepared to rock back into the roads.

The reason for going to Type 1 model is that I don't like the new Manza model bumper as it has too much of Chrome and cabbies looks, moreover the cost of the current bumper is almost 6.5k and I don't know what makes it much expensive to replace.

So with all these, I'm changing Engine oil and GB oil where the total costs comes around 11 or 12k which i feel is pretty worth.

Thank you Rohan, Nice to see fellow Vista owner with same colored Vista on-board and yes I don't mind praising it again and again, the comfort and ride quality is very matured which I frankly didn't like in any other hatchbacks in competition. The QJD is decent and makes enough power.

Question: Do all the private cars in your city needs to put the red tape behind?

That's a superb looking Vista Rohan! Alloys are good and the 185/65 is actually a good fit and doesn't hamper the ABS functioning.

Clutch had become hard and FE was poor as low ~11kmpl so got it changed.

Unfortunately the type 1 bumper didn't fit into my 2012 Vista, as there was 3-4 inch gap, so back to the stock ones, will post pics as soon as it reaches me.

Have you upgraded the fog lamps? I felt the fog lamps very weak in terms of brightness and not powerful. Please suggest a suitable upgrade.

Varun suggests to go for Auxiliaries.

11?[surprise] That's very bad.in time that you are changing the clutch. coming to the foglamps i havent changed anything from the stock yet. My use is mainly in my town which is illuminated and so less chances to test fog lamps. and i drive mainly during day which negates use of foglamps.
As suggested by appu, you should try the projectors since even my friend's vista has white bulbs which are effective to say the least.

Sad to know about the bumper. But trust me, not visiting TASS will keep you happy and content for life. Bangalore TASS are one of the worst in the entire country (by reviews) & lack everything from spares to willingness to help customers. I sold off my nano mainly due to the repeated no:of bad experiences with these jokers. Your car is in good condition, just depend on a good FNG and prerana for parts, you will be happy & munch more miles for sure.

Waiting for pictures now.

What would be the cost if I'm going for the projectors Appu? Also how do I choose the projector lamps for that fog lamp position?

Could you please share the cost and photo of your friends Vista with those projectors?

Sorry for you nano loss Anand, It does feel bad to give away products. TASS should learn from Maruti of treating their customers and also to have feedback on how their products perform.

AFAIK Aadya motors in Hebbal had a good rapport and when I left there last time they did a decent job.

My car is back with it's glory with shiny new bumper, new clutch and here and there, Thanks to Varun for getting it serviced and keeping in his home until i took it yesterday.

Will post photos soon.

Update:

The car has run 38k odd kilometers and doing it's work with full glory.

Took it for a long drive and boy, the comfort and driving was very good. The mileage was around 18.50kmpl after the clutch replacement.

Here's the latest pic and yes there is a color difference between body and Front Bumper.

Update @45000 kms:

P_20160617_074848_Fotor.jpg

Of late, Have been using car on a regular basis, hence changed Engine oil,oil filter by 45000 kms and replaced coolant oil since it was suggested by service center personnel.

IMG_8953_Fotor.jpg

A month back while driving in the pot-hole stricken Bangalore roads, I slowly negotiated a pot-hole and the car somehow managed to scrape a medium sized stone which in turn touched the engine guard (was by 5kmph or so speed) the guard was bent and kept touching the engine belt from the below making a grunting rubbing noise!

So drove to office in the morning and then to service station where the service professional repaired the bent guard, I'd thought the tyres were touching the bumper and something with the same issue had happened, lucky i finished it within 250 bucks.

Alignment has completely gone and needs to be taken to alignment shop near Varun's home.

Took the car for audio upgrade shop last saturday @EBBass near home. Pics to follow:

Installation took almost 6 hours:

I thought of swapping into a touch screen unit and then decided against it as I was content with the Stock HU as it was blaupunkt one and.
To the Vista/Manza owners, this is how our double din unit looks!

The Hi-Lo Connector which is mainly needed for the ones needing to connect the Stock Hu to the AMP for attaching all the RCAs
Hi-Lo Converter.jpg

The components is of Helix in the front door which was retained when I'd sold my enjoy and this is how it's installed.
Removing the doorpads became a task for the people, but somehow they were able to remove it.

Tweeters sitting in the door sill instead of the dashboard housing, reason for enhanced effects:

AFAIK these people @EBbass has done a decent job with the wiring and positioning of the speakers. They're quite expensive, but ensure they do their job well as I was satisfied because there was no cutting short of wires or cheap tricks to make the process faster.

Things to do:
As the car is approaching 50k, please let me know what all fluid changes should the car be going through,

I'm planning to change Gear Oil, Brake oil and Brake pads(Due for replacement as i felt the braking has become weak), break liners to be checked.

Needs to check the suspension bushes as I get some creepy sound from the front left wheel.

Update: 49000 kms.

Due to prolonged usage of car in traffic congested city as well as highways and hills, I've to admit the clutch, flywheel and brakes took a toll on the car and had to be replaced unfortunately as they were hampering the performance and less FE.

The reason of the clutch failure was improper usage as observed by Ashwin (Member here) and the brake shoes had not been replaced which led the rotors to give way for braking.

So took the car to Ashwin's Garage and got all replaced and added DRLs and fog lamps to the bumper.

Total cost: 24k with labor and parts cost.

Let the pics do the rest of talking:

The DRLs fitting in the bumper, had to cut some chrome bits inside the bumper for this light to get inside.

Currently I'm unable to upload more pics, seems to be a server problems.
