Re: Neela: Story of a Pre-Loved Tata Vista VX

The lights alignment is gone and I feel the need of upgrading for 90/100w lamps, however I need to know what specifications the lights carry out. Vista owners please shed light on this.
try to fix the alignments by yourself. it is very easy and simple.

Vista Headlights have more than enough power to make the roads bright.

Re: Neela: Story of a Pre-Loved Tata Vista VX

Did a 900 kms Trip yesterday and boy! It's surprising in many ways!

= Good highway stability and speeds away asking you to put the pedal to the metal,
Average speed was 130kmph, took to 160kmph without fussing around!

= Driving comfort is very good, however I felt there's a need for an armrest for my left hand.

= Since tyres are due for replacement, it was spoiler for the entire trip, eg, steering vibrations felt at 100-130kmph range. Bad FE of 15kmpl.

= The turbo pull post 2k rpm is amazing, on the contrary performance and overtaking needs to be planned well in advance when the car is below 2k rpm

= Rear fog lamps is a nice feature and helps very much in fog laden areas and powerful than the front ones! yes front fog lights can be compared to parking lights.

try to fix the alignments by yourself. it is very easy and simple.

Thanks Appu, did the same and low beams are good enough, but there doesn't seem to be a way to level up the high beams, I might be going for a better powered one.

You've researched already! My buying decisions vary as we have needs which varies too! That's nice to see an Omni owner, If it was in our possession,I'd restored it as we cannot forget our first car!

Re: Neela: Story of a Pre-Loved Tata Vista VX

Update:

Car has done 32600 Kms as of today, took out for a weekend trip to Coorg, Cars goes in highways effortlessly, cool suspension and seating comfort makes the journey pleasant and I'm happy for not getting back pains which we usually get in hatches.

Had the Check Engine Light when I was tripping, it remained until I finished the trip, took to the service centre and got to know that 1 of out 4 glow-plugs had given way and replaced it immediately paying INR 900 from my pocket.

After the headlamp upgrade, visibility has increased, however, needed much better throw, plans to put auxiliaries later.

Clutch and gear-shifts are little harder, need to check when I leave for service,
My nephew broke the left air-vent and chargers aren't working, need for service is in cards.

Thank you, I paid 4L for this car and for the Swift,i20 and Punto concerned, Swift in used market is too much for asking which is not at all a good option to go, eg, 5 lakhs quoted for lakh kms in odo, i20 as I said we had no option to reject it.
Punto was never an option because I can't keep spending time and money finding spares over the city.

Vista was priority hatchback, which offers me space just like my Enjoy and comfort being main USP, I don't know why I should reject it.

You broke it! Well the alloys has reached the dealer but my bank balance not yet [lol]
Will be upgrading this month end.

Re: Tata Vista VX: 35k kms Review

Update:

Got the vehicle serviced at TASS for minor repairs, the list goes on:

* There was an oil leak from engine and the Engine guard had bent due to scraping which was taken care and service guys repaired the bent guard and topped up the engine oil.

* Brake bleeding was done.

* Washed and waxed the car for 300 bucks for which i felt was pretty worth and the work done was satisfactory.

* Minor niggles like reverse light fuse replaced, Driver side recliner knob fixed and left air vent replaced.

Overall it was a decent experience with the TASS Aadya Motors after spending 3500 bucks for all this. Was offered AMC for 10k which included 2 services, didn't have mind to pay that much.

Anyways the car has run 35k until now, Major upgrade was tyres and alloys:

Yokohama Earth1 series 185/65/R14 (Stock was 175/65/R14) INR 19000/-
HRS alloys 14" INR 19000/-
Number plates.

Here goes the pic.
IMG_8947_Fotor.jpg

Things to do:

Replace Clutch Pressure plate as it has become hard to use.

Change the seat covers to black colored ones as the current one gets soiled very frequently

Have to add Carbon Vinyl Fibre on the roof, Please suggest where we could find gloss black ones.

Future plans to add spoilers.

That's amazing Vista out there. Wishing you happy miles ahead. Rs 19k seems to be cheap for those beautiful alloys. A steal deal.

Thank you Vaishak, to be exact these were sourced from alloywheelsindia.com and through a friend of mine who cut in a good deal.

Thanks,
Thanks Mate, Neela is in action after it came to it's second owner's son (read myself).

It's merrily doing city duties as well as highway runs, never misses to amuse me in every aspect, just a thing left to be desired is the turbo lag below 2k rpm.

The previous owner who is in touch with me, requested the photo in previous photo to keep for himself. [:)]

Missed your post buddy,

Yes, Both Low beam and Highbeam is more than enough to cover the whole road . I'm guess, your low and high beams are out of focus. try to correct it by your self.

Will post some pics of whitey's with Low & low+high beam(stock) by tomorrow

Here is the pic of my Vista's stock headlight.

Stock headligths are more than enough to cover the full road. It will give enough confidence to take any roads at during night journey.
The stock was decent IMO, but as my dad also drives, needs much more brighter ones, so upgraded the head lights to Philips 80W for all 4 barrels with relay. Now it feels much safe to drive at night.

Thanks ss80,

(W.r.t Bold line) That's very obvious what the market asks for, especially our Indians mind for accommodating people and offer the comfortableness.

Sadly our Indians are quite reluctant for Home made brands for which the company has contributed with poor marketing skills or I may say reaching the customer base.
