Those were superb spy pics DJ Bro, the Kite design has been carved out very well looking by the pics.

Wish they bring it with a powerful engine with both Petrol & Diesel, It'd be nice if they plonk the 1.3 MJD with the same tuning of 74 BHP and 90Bhp version.

Did you guys notice in this pic, above the headlamps, the silver lining ( I don't know what it is) is covered and it merges with the line that goes across the body. This gives the car really aggressive look, compared to the previous pic posted above the same thread.

The silver lining above the car gives the car more cute look, where as covering that with black headlamps gives it a great aggressive look.

Kite 5 and Nexon spotted together Source motorbeam... I must say the body creases on kite 5 looks absolutely stunning in these pics. Also those 15 inch Zest alloy.. Suits so well.. These should be offered on top trim

EDIT: Interestingly, height seems quite same for both the car! Is it me or others can also say the same?

I think Nexon will probably replace Bolt and Kite5 will replace Zest, they can't keep 2 products in same price band. I assume there must be bigger Bolt and Zest under development which will compete with premium segment (6-9 lakhs). They may use 4cyl engine in Tiago/Kite/Nexon in higher end variants, or may further develop it to install in next gen Bolt/Zest.

To me, this sounds like a good plan.

EDIT: That Kite5 with 15inch wheels looks very balanced and boot reminds me of some German cars.

Enhanced Design of Kite 5 (more than 4 m), 4 cyl turbo charged engine of Zest, 16 inch diamond cut alloys, sunroof and cruise control will make it an absolute winner :p

Bolt is as good as dead for pvt market ,with next gen swift and ignis coming there is no sense to continue it .Tata should transfer bolt to commercial market replacing vista .

It should increase the length and width(similar to bolt) of kite 5.Instead of hot tiago hatch it should work on turbo charged petrol and diesel tiago engines for kite 5 ,which should be truly hot for anything under 8lakhs.It should also work on engine refinement and nvh.Give 15 inch wheels as standard and 16 for top version,provide tinted glasses(really tinted).Do all this and price it similar or little bit lower than bolt and you will kill everything right from celerio to baleno.Please TATA think about it.However good this car maybe some might skip it and willing to pay more for more space and power .So , please take care of this,You have a cult design in your hand don't let it down due to other factors .


P.S

I have not seen rear wiper in this car, not in auto expo ,nor in production version or test mule.Does this mean it will not have it at all?

I am still wondering what will be the segment first feature!anything from jaguar or land rover? I wonder if there was one, it would have been mentioned at the autoexpo.

1. Bolt and Zest facelift are expected around the end of 2017 or beginning of 2018. Their design will be revamped, they won't bear any resemblance to the present design. They carry forward the designs of Nexon, Kite 5 and so on.

2. Indian market is basically 'Kitna Dethi hai' at the End of Day, so they won't upgrade Kite 5 or Tiago with powerful 4 cylinder engine in the future.

3. Premium Sedan with improved power and design are in the making just like you asked for Kite 5. It was under development, no idea if they will carry it forward.

4. I had the opportunity to talk to one of the topmost Tata employee in Mumbai airport, and he said Tata is back on track with respect to churning out 2 cars every year till 2020. Once Kite 5 is launched everything will be streamlined and things will fall in place.

The wishlist you have warns for a new sedan which cannot be done in the segment Kite5 will play. We might see these things you mentioned in the new Zest which is under works

Still I would say Kite sedan will be one car which can turn heads and will sell in good numbers

I feel instead of facelifted bolt it would be better if they improve the space and power of kite 5 ,as bolt would still be a hatchback, of which we already have plenty and soon will have more.But kite 5 with its coupeish design standout and there is nothing similar to it in our market in term of design(its biggest USP).Tata should work on its two weak point space and power and it might go on to become one of the best sellers.Keep it 3 cylinder to keep the prices low.


At the end, its their decision but I really feel this is the best way forward for them . I see many people who like tiago but give it a miss for more space,Tata should address this issue and avoid same fate for kite 5.

Look what I found while searching for a cell-phone top-up shop!
This was a diesel version prototype. Sounded pretty much the same as the Tiago Revotorq.
Seems like testing for a power upgrade.
Had a quick chat with the driver. He said the car had clocked around 1L kms and there are some final niggles being sorted out.
Although I wasn't allowed to take pics of the interior, the driver was kind enough to let me have a quick peek at it.
The interior is pretty much the same as we have seen in the previously leaked pics. Touchscreen Harman ICE and Climate control, Armrest for the rear seat. The car was equipped with projector headlamps as well.
The KITE5 looks beautiful even with all that heavy camouflage.
Hope I'll be able to catch the other KITE5 mule with the 15 inch wheels and have a chat with the driver some day.

He said the car is fine and comfortable. He didn't share any details regarding the niggles but my guess is the tuning and refining of the bigger turbo.

There is a possibility of different slabs for GST implementation. Hence the compact cars category could still have some kind of Tax advantage. But things on this will be clear only closer to the end of this fiscal.
