Fitted Neowheels Illusion MBM Alloys on my Tiago.


Design Choice:
Since I bought my Tiago XZ Petrol Espresso Brown without alloys, started looking for third party alloys (I, for one, adore Hyundai OEM diamond cut alloys!!!).
Came to know about the Neo Wheels brand through a nearby tyre shop in Hosur. While looking for more information about the brand, I got into their facebook page and they had plenty of pictures of their alloys fitted in different cars. Got attracted to the Illusion Alloy at first sight and decided to go with it. Made the order by paying the booking amount.

Installation:
Installation didn’t go as smooth as I would have liked and in the end, alloys had to bear some scratches due to the shop guy’s poor handling of alloys in the installation bed.

And it hurts…….!



I would strongly suggest to choose a good shop, do the installation in slow pace and when the shop guys have enough time (around 1.5 to 2 Hours). “Don’t go to the shop in the late evening / shop closing hours”.

Brand: Neo Wheels
Model: Illusion MBM (Matt Black Machined)
Price: Rs. 21,900 for set of 4 Alloys
Rim Size & PCD: 14 Inches, 108 mm, 4 Bolt Holes

Did I consider upsizing Tyres?
Yes. I thought of upsizing to 15 Inch alloys and tyres. So posted a question in the forum mycarhelpline and eventually decided not to upsize.

Other Points:

1.Look how different the alloy looks in plain view and in installed view. I will recommend to decide the design by looking at the alloys in “fitted-in-a-car” condition.



2.Neo Wheels website has a feature to choose and try their alloys on different cars (they call it Wheel Match). When I chose my alloys, Tiago wasn’t in the list though.

Well, that's one sexy looking alloy I must say. I own brown XT. Hope XT also comes with same Tyre size as XZ, have to check on that one.

Alloy looks very cool. I was thinking of installing manza's alloy (couldn't get a pic now). It looks like Hyundai's diamond cut alloy, at least to me.

What happened to your steel wheels? Sold?

Really disappointed with people not trying out this car even though owners reviews are mostly satisfied. Wish people buy more sensibly and Tiago gets what it deserves.

Thanks a lot. XT does come with same rim and tyre size as XZ. Just checked the Tiago Brouchure.

Do post picture of Manza Alloys. Don't remember having seen one in the recent times. My personal view, i haven't found any third party diamond cut alloys like Momo Italy, HRS, as droolworthy as the stock alloys of Hyundai Verna, Elite i20, Grand i10 and Excent. Alloys with different finish like Gunmetal, Matt Black is a different story again.

You will have to fit Vista alloys, coz Manza's alloys are 15". Its same design in smaller size.
You can sell steel rim, one goes for 1,000 INR approx.

No sir, other cars still sold good numbers so Tiago slid from 13th to 18th number. I think many are not open for Tata. Many are open for Tata as they think Tata is good in diesel which is true, but they want petrol and they trust Diesel Tata but not Petrol Tata. Personally I felt the fun to drive factor is more in Tiago petrol than its competitors if one is looking at a relaxed and comfortable car.

Coming to GST, you're mistaken. GST ultimately is going to increase prices and not reduce it. Specifically I would say it would keep the prices same where vat is more but increase prices where vat is less. If anyone waiting for GST from states like Delhi, Haryana where vat is very low please buy ASAP before you're fooled.

Yes its Indians perception towards Tata. If any friends hearing that I am going for Tata, they react as if I did a crime !! People will love to buy tin cans from maruti or expensive one from German or Korean but still they are not convinced on Tata. Tata need to improve a lot in gaining confidence among buyers.

According to DJ Bro, all newly manufactured non XZ Tiago comes with body coloured B-Pillar.

I think TATA didn't increased the price in November and December so they thought to do cost cutting.

The fall in tiago numbers is due to year end. The segment and the lower segments are price conscious segments and the drop is seen on all cars in the segment. Alto, celerio, kwid. All had their numbers slashed.

Tiago had its first taste of the highway last weekend ~90KM
pretty good mileage on the MID...!!!! Used only City Mode, AC was On all the time...
Didn't push the car beyond 100 KMPH and also touched 3000 RPMs few a times ... Power output and steering feedback at high speeds is satisfactory. Still a slightly heavier steering at high speeds would have suited my taste.

Maximum Mileage on the MID during the trip...


Also got the OEM Car Cover. The price is Rs. 1900.
Quality Material and i personally liked the zip-openability of the cover in the driver side.

Finally my Tiago car is allocated in my name. Hopefully it should reach Bengaluru in week's time.

Thanks All for your positive feedback on Tiago which made me to Book it in the first place.

Could you please let me know what next to be done before handing over the Down payment to dealer ?

Few things which i can recollect from older posts are
- VIN verification
- Car Insurance with 3rd party( I am not going with dealers insurance bz its not prizy)
- Pre Delivery Check. Please do let me know how to go about it ?
- Accessories.

Could someone explain to me the need of AMC and also the new Promise to Protect AMC ?
