Hi Wanderlust

The foglamps should not be used until you encounter fog.

As during night driving it will reduce your ability to look the farther road ahead.

The brightly lit area is what your eye shall be concentrating.

So unless you encounter a foggy or rainy season with less visibility, you should try to drive with headlamps alone.

I find this beneficial to guage the road ahead.

So your practice is a good one.

I really agree that even a hatchback or cycle can reach khardung la and I also did same on my classic 350 in 2011.
But I wrote about marsimik la ,it's the highest even higher than khardung la.
It's motorable or not, simply depends on your motor :)

hi, Marsimik La is not Motor able Road , because that point is totally off road and you have to climb raw mountain to reach that point and at some point to have to push up the bike also to reach that point.

If someone taken cycle or bike to Mount Everest or to the Siachin that doesn't make it motor able?

Moreover the challenge is going to Mighty Chang la where more then 30* climbing..

What matters is going up there.

the salute to that guys, who reaches to Khardun La from Manali on cycle only it takes him a week from Manali to Khardung La. It was honour to see that guy in front of me when he kissed the ground and started crying

Infact what I want to tell is that, vehicle is capable but you need guts to go there. I have myself been there sitting in a qualis drving by ladaki driver. It was an experience i cannot forget.

And when you are driving yourself, there is not one pass that you pass and rest of the journey is a breeze. There a passes after passes, and each one is a challenge in itself.

I feel crossing all the passes is a personal record if not a world record. You have to be proud of it.

Out of so many TAIGers how many have taken thier vehicles to LEh and ladakh? it is a thing to be proud of.
