Re: New Tata Safari 'Storme' Now Officially Breaks Cover

I still haven't seen the pics for last seats, jump seats. Need to see whether the headroom has increased. Anyone with pics of these, :please:.

Those jump seats are a true negative to the new Safari, have tested the XUV to its limits and after this testing it looks like Tata needs to bring a bit too much improved model to cope up with this SUV.

@Droy:
About Scorpio and Safari, both of them have a bit too much of body roll, only difference is that Safari is still confident at cruising speeds but Scorpio is better at city speeds.Rest I myself have once owned a Scorpio too and what I feel is that maybe Safari seems to have more body roll but its the Scorpio which turns turtle quite easily, same is being seen on roads/highways here, most of the overturning SUVs are Scorpios.

@vishwas, thanks a lot buddy [clap].
But still finding it difficult to say whether there is drastic increase in headroom coz those curves at C pillar are still there[confused].
Think the company people haven't changed the C-Pillar as the side profile remains same as older version, but still its really small for people above 5.7ft or somthing,

Definitely +1,when we used to own the Safari once we went to Jwala ji with total 8 people on board and three on the jump seats even none of them had their head strike the roof while at many places I did even 140+ speeds as well as some bad patches of road were encountered too.
Only problem was that two of them were nearly unconscious when we reached Jwala ji.And one of them even vomitted on the trip!!!

That tells how uncomfortable are the rear side facing seats!

No Mukesh
By this statement i meant that Scorpio has body roll and horizontal movement even on a plane surface. Leave the curves as on curvey roads its dangerous to drive scorpio on higher speeds.

And Safari is known to provide its passengers a couch like driving experience.

And in new safari body roll will be much less than the previous one and also if we compare it to scorpio it would be generation ahead in terms of driving dyanmics.

Thanks, yes iam looking for a new SUV and will be going to new Safari as soon as they'll launch it.
As scorpio is not upto my taste (i have driven Scorpio for more than 250 kms in plains and in hills both)
Which scorpio had you driven mhawk or crde 2.6?
As there is humognous difference between two.

Well, this problem has a simple solution, get the people who often vomit in car seated on either front or middle seat and others on jump seats. In my case those were two girls/women and a guy on jump seats and after one vomited they were shifted to front rows but still all three of them were in a need for rest after reaching there.
In other words, only men must travel on those seats and hence there will be no need for any plastic bag.[glasses]

The he would have definitely driven a 2.6 that also with quite malfunctioning front suspension.why?Because 2.6 had an issue with suspension(Raj:correct me if I am wrong)and hence it many times used to behave the way mentioned by Tornado.

Have a look at this thread: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...omobiles-involved-accidents-30.html#post66489.
Again its not clear which Scorpio you owned?
2.6 or mHawk?

Well, mine was a 2008(January) 2.6 CRDe slx which was owned by us for a very short period of time and was sold even before 2009.And it always felt like its very unstable at high speeds. While the lesser nose heavy m-hawk is quite more stable but still not confident at high speeds. In other words, from the very first turbo 2.6 to current m-hawk,the high speed stability has always been an issue with the SCORPIO thing.

as i said even on that post unless person dam drunk or total newbie else safari 99.9% not possible . also see one side of safari bumper is damaged which means it hit something at speed
Definitely +1,I myself have driven Safari a lot,on hills,on plains,in villages and have done some really elevated speeds too and my experience says that overall controlling of Safari especially at high speeds is really better than Scorpio.

Something is missing in the discussion, what's that??..hmmm..[thinking]..yeah..where are Raj and THE-XOVER[evil]?? in this M&M vs Tata turning thread for adding much more needed spice for a good discussion!!
