Two months ago Tata upgraded both Safari and Harrier with facelift changes. Both come with the same architecture and same engine specs but Safari (1825KG) weighs 150 KG more than the Harrier (1675 KG) which I am guessing is due to the bigger size and the added 3rd row. My question is does the bigger weight have an observable effect on the performance (does Safari feel slow slower in terms of acceleration) and mileage (does Harrier give a better mileage) of the vehicle?

Tata Motors has revised the feature list of Safari’s Pure variant. The eliminated features include: Third-row AC vents, armrest, spare wheel, roof lights for the second and third row, TPMS, LED lights, and auto-dimming IRVM is replaced with a manual unit. However, Pure variant now offers a shark-fin antenna, reverse parking camera, and 10.25” touchscreen infotainment. Prices remain unaffected. (Source: Link)

. Mindboggling rejigging of features. As far as I know the Altroz XM variant came with electric side irvms. The touchscreeen and reverse camera can be upgraded easily outside as canbus for the same might be easily available. I dont know whom to blame, the indian customer whose family insists we need to buy the car with the biggest touchscreen or TATA's reckless think tank who have arrived at this knee jerk reaction. No rooflights even on the second row in a three row suv ?
In the past two years I have seen countless reckless decisions like this including launching a coupe SUV with no headroom for 6 plus feet individuals.
