@Sai, we (myself, vishwas and varun) were discussing about your nano during our VW trip. In our discussing we were talking about different sizes of tyres for rear and front. Do you have any idea what is the reason for that and what happen if one of the tyre is puncher and spare tyre is not that size?

My 2 cents:

For non alloy, we can still fit the spare tyre irrespective of the size and can drive the vehicle slowly to nearest puncture shop. I think for alloy wheels, the wheel size is same for all the four wheels.

@saishibu, what do you think of the brakes in nano??? I'm not at all satisfied
got used to it, check if all the brake cylinders at the drum are working. i drove some 500km without one of the cylinder working.

thanks! tata says , its to avoid body roll and also wider tyres are rear to hold the engine weight and thin tyres in front for easy steering.also a cost cutting factor!!
four tyres costs less than 10K rupees. tyre dealers are recommending 165/60/r12 in potenza g3 and yokohoma for all four tyres. but my next tyre change for front will be 145/70/r12 (M800 stock) (have to change in less than 5K odo).so far haven't experienced any punctures in rear wheel. also the radius is same but just the profile varies. may be max 5mm in difference.[:)]

alloy wheel or steel wheel, both are 12 inches only for all the four. [:)]
