Re: Impact Design 2.0 by Tata Motors

I used to have an opinion, that Tata needs to create a new brand to sell the new upcoming cars. However, with the sales of the Nexon and Tiago catching up, I think they have done a good job rebuilding the Tata Brand.
None of the new releases by Tata have failed to impress us, be it the Hexa, the Nexon or the Tiago.
They also did a superb job getting the contract for the electric cars, and also to start deliveries on time.

Its nice to know , that they did not halt, to gloat on to their success, and are working hard on improvements.

Tata Motors enters second phase of its passenger vehicle design philosophy with

IMPACT DESIGN 2.0

View attachment IMPACT_Design_2.0.jpg

Mumbai, January 19, 2018: Building on the Impact Design philosophy launched in 2016, Tata Motors Design proudly launches the second phase of its exciting design philosophy in the 150th anniversary year of the Tata Group. Impact Design 2.0 builds on the multi-award-winning Impact Design philosophy, under which the Tiago, Hexa, Tigor and Nexon were created and launched. These cars have received critical acclaim from customers and automotive experts.

Impact Design 2.0 is a sharper, more contemporary expression of the now recognizable Tata Motors’ Design language, which captures the attention of the viewer in the first few seconds. It is recognizable, memorable and above all stunning.

The exteriors are defined by segment leading wheel sizes which will give the car a stance like no other. The strong proportions give the cars incredible road presence. The details will further strengthen and will reflect India-Global Design inspiration. The body colours will ensure a striking appearance in every light condition.

The interior design will be clean, clutter free, and will be a blend of a great balance of design flourish and practicality. The interior cocoons the occupants in comfort, and ensure every function is within arms’ reach. The use of high quality materials will enhance the experience. The colour combinations will be premium and luxurious. The HMI screens will be segment leading. The user interface and graphics will be intuitive and clear.

The IMPACT DESIGN 2.0 Philosophy is refreshed under the 3 ‘Ex’ and 3 ‘In’

3 EX’s

1. Exciting Proportions

- The strong proportions of body to cabin will give the cars an incredible sense of dynamism

- Segment leading wheel sizes and strong fender volumes will create a purposeful stance and unmistakable road presence

2. Expressive Surfaces

- The clean, uncluttered surfacing will give the cars a futuristic expression

- The grille blends into the lamps enhancing the width of the cars. These are underpinned by the instantly recognisable, and more 3-dimensional Humanity Line

- Dynamism and movement will be created through the slingshot line that will be highlighted by the Diamond shaped windows in side view

3. Extra-ordinary Details

- The exquisite attention to detail to the exterior details strengthen and reflect our India-Global Design. The new Tri-Arrow pattern now make their appearance on the cars.

3 IN’s

1. Inviting Spaces

- The interior design is clean and elegant but with an emotional twist, balancing the practical needs of the customer with an aesthetic playfulness that draws the eyes and invites further investigation.

2. Intelligent Choices

- Inspiring material choices, and discerning color combinations enhance the perception of tactile quality, reinforced by ingenious storage and accessory options, allowing the customer to cleverly configure and shape their own driving environment.

3. In-Touch Interfaces

- Occupants are cocooned in ergonomic comfort, with innovative and intuitive in-car technology strategically positioning screens and controls to create an effortless driving experience, securely connected to the outside world.

So Hexa and Nexon was just a beginning :D !
Tri-Arrow DRLs ?
* Just read that AMP would accomodate up to 18 inch wheels and Q platforms - up to 21 inches .

* Floating displays would grow wider too.

Exciting
first of the sneak-peeks is out.

Looks like the headlights are going to be super thin. LEDs TATA?
Looking at the upcoming line up for the Expo 2018 by TML, I believe their display area would surely be buzzing with lot of activities followed by media attention. 26 products, that's no common feat![glasses]

The new design language in it's 2nd avtar would make the future TML vehicles look more well groomed and packaged. Not just the looks but how well TML will integrate other important aspects in their vehicles is definitely worth the wait and surely interesting to watch.

It seems like Tata Motors is planning an urban 4x4 rivalling upcoming Thar 2.0 !

If you were to buy a high-torque 4x4 vehicle in a #SmartCity, how would you want it to be powered? #SmartMobility #AutoExpo2018 #ConnectingAspirations

Could be a electric powertrain concept of the Compass Rival or maybe the 2018 New Safari concept with electric powertrain. I think it might be too much to think but a slight possibility of Hybrid Electric Hexa could be there as well.

Indianautosblog.com has posted a sketch of the H7X the 7 seater version of the SUVS on the OMEGA platform derived from the JLR that currently underpins the Discovery.

Screenshot_20180309-202420.png

It is a wonderful rendering by SRK but still the rear end of the window area still doesn't match the sketch glimpse of the video from TATA MOTORS. But a very nice attempt.
