Re: Tata Indica Vista VX 2011 - Ownership Issues
Auto Experts ! Need some suggestion. I am back with the A.C problems again in my car.
Update after the Service center fixed the issue (at least they said so !!)
The service personnel mentioned that the issue is resolved. But in case if I take it for a long drive and face the same problem they asked me to report back.
And I did take the car (got a chance due to busy schedule during the week) today to Thiruthani. When I left Chennai around 1:30 PM today the A.C was working fine and after I drove it for approx 30 kms (continuously) the A.C effect started to deteriorate and eventually no effect at all. I then switched off the A.C/Fan completely and turned it back on in another hour or so, the A.C started to work. Again as I kept driving for few more kms the A.C won't work and just the fan blowing some air. Finally I drove the car back to home with windows rolled down to get at least some fresh air with pollution. When I approached my home, I tried to turn on the A.C and the compressor started to work again.
My thoughts -
1. The service personnel seem to be replacing parts without proper diagnosis, they seem to have no clue what so ever. This is just disgusting even after complaining so much on top of it being such a brand new car/model.
2. Can the A.C issue in particular due to some sort of sensor problems which prevents the compressor to keep running after continuous driving for an hour or so?.
3. If there is fault with the compressor how come the A.C works on and off, it should either work or not work completely !!.
I also read somewhere on the sporadic compressor issue
I have reported back to Tata Customer service manager who has been following up on my case and this time I am sure they will replace the OEM A.C unit since replacing parts seem to be a pretty easy task for them than actually diagnosing a problem.

Sporadic temperatures can also occur as a result of a problem in your vehicle’s electrical system. For example, the compressor clutch may not receive a sufficient electrical charge from the battery. When the charge doesn’t carry enough voltage, the clutch can fail to trigger the compressor.
