Another Comparison Review Tata Bolt vs Hyundai Elite i20 vs Fiat Punto Evo vs Volkswagen Polo by Overdrive - Comparison: Tata Bolt Vs Hyundai Elite I20 Vs Fiat Punto Evo Vs Volkswagen Polo - Comparison By Overdrive

With the Polo, the problem is the engine. It really does detract that much from the driving experience and the diesel engine in the same car really makes it a very different experience. The Punto Evo on the other hand is a decade old design and its age shows. The interior has been refreshed but it still doesn’t quite match the Tata or the Hyundai in features and overall execution. It’s also the most expensive car in this test and in this company, it’s hard to justify that premium just for the badge. The Bolt is a huge leap forward for Tata Motors. It’s a great package with an exciting engine and is packed with useful features. It offers excellent value for money and is the least expensive on this test. It only just loses out to the Elite i20 which has better space utilization, a sensible boot and larger feature set. It’s no surprise that our Car Of The Year wins this test, but it is surprising that the Bolt managed to run it so close.

Video Review by Faisal Khan from Motorbeam - Bolt/ Swift / Grand i 10

Motorbeam concluded Bolt offers better handling and Steering feedback. Rear seat space is better then i10 and Swift.
Bolt has the best tyre and is also the most stable car out of the three. However it was ranked 2nd just because of pricing.

Never mind but still Bolt is the Best!![;)]

i20 Elite Vs VW Polo: The Two Beasts Head to Head

The two big brands, both having excel in creating a perfect combination of design, engine and stability are from a long time head to head with their cars. The recently updated i20 Elite and VW Polo are one of their hot cakes in the market that are selling like nothing else.

It would be a pleasure for all your opinions as what you guys think about these cars.

i20 Elite has best looks till date when compared to any hatchbacks on Indian roads. It gives perfect bang and the much needed bling for every penny one is investing. Performance wise I liked it much more than the others out there. The premium feel and attention it gets when driven is enough for one to put on happy smiles to invest in this car!

Re: i20 Elite Vs VW Polo: The Two Beasts Head to Head

i feel the I20Elite has my scores. The germans have failed to appeal to the masses. having said that VW is more of a driver's car IMO its simple and yet masculine. whereas I20 has the looks. a good engine. Most important for india good mileage. when compared to VW so I20 is a winner for masses. but if the vote was for Driving fun only VW would have surely won. VW surely gets your adrenaline Gushing.

Re: i20 Elite Vs VW Polo: The Two Beasts Head to Head

Nice thread [thumbsup] two of my favorite cars.

But if i were in the market for a petrol hatch , i'd buy the comfortline of polo.
Most of the features including ABS And Airbags are present and it falls below the 6 lakhs mark in delhi so tax benefits as well.

Comfortline will cost approx 6.7 lakhs(5.95 ex) and if i were to go for the i20 sportz model , it will cost around 7.30 lakhs (6.27 ex)

Polo has a 3 cylinder engine but it won't be that bad just like i20's petrol engine is sufficient if not that much powerful.

Re: i20 Elite Vs VW Polo: The Two Beasts Head to Head

Elite i20[clap],

Looks - subjective, i20 looks stunning, while the Polo's timeless design is elegant
Interiors - Both cars have quality interiors, tightly packed with high quality plastics
Ergonomics - Well, both are ergonomically well designed
Build Quality - VW takes this, much better than Elite
Space - Elite trumps Polo here

Though both are equally good in terms of quality and performance, I have voted for Elite because of the better hassle-free, peaceful ownership experience that it can offer over polo IMO[;)].

Re: i20 Elite Vs VW Polo: The Two Beasts Head to Head

Well both these hatches are great and have their own pros and cons.

I voted for Elite i20 because:-
1. I like the looks of elite i20 over the polo.
2. Better Fe.
3. I am more of a gizmo freak which i20 has got right in good numbers and also like the overall interior appeal.
4. Space allocation is done very nicely unlike polo where the rear legroom feels to cramped.
5. But yes polo scores when it comes to stability and build quality.
6. Also i guess the maintenance will be on higher side for polo.

elite i20 is best in looks and performance and premium feel but its lost on Fuel Economy when we compare to Swift, Bolt and POLO.

because Elite i20 gives just 11KMPL in City and 14 to 16KMPL on Highway

VW Polo is definitely good mix of comfort and driving dynamics. Where it stumbles is on rear seat space, which is nowhere near what you get from the XXL Hyundai and Tata Bolt. Also VW’s after-sales service just isn’t as solid as Hyundai’s and Maruti's.
Elite i20 is big and spacious car that really gives it an edge in this segment.[:)]

Re: i20 Elite Vs VW Polo: The Two Beasts Head to Head

I personally feel that Hyundai is lot more creative than any other company in India, as they know the real meaning of Revamp.
If you see all its avtaars ranging from i10, i10 Grand, Classic i20, New i20, i20 Elite all the models are completely different, they do not share any similarities in their face-lifts. Thats what i love about Hyundai designers.

As correctly mentioned by incarnation VW surely gets your adrenaline Gushing. But when you talk about overall package as a car.

Elite i20 definitely steals the show in premium category [:)]

Polo is my choice among these two.
Clean and stunning sporty looks of the Polo have always captured my heart since 2010.
The Elite looks ugly to me, personally and the overall design of the Elite seems incomplete to me.
The Elite may have better space, but the Polo was much more comfy for me.
The Elite is very bad to drive when compared to the Polo, Swift and Bolt. (Feels like a toy)
But my overall final choice of hatchback in this segment is the Tata Bolt: The best combination of all rivals' positives with minimal compromises.

It is indeed under-powered. 1.2L!! Are they kidding? It deserves an 1.4L Petrol at least, for it's added weight compared to Grand siblings.

And my vote for best look goes to (obviously)i20. I mean, it has minimal yet subtle Fluidic design. Whereas Polo has that classic look which is good but not necessarily better than Elite. It is same old monotonous design.

If the car is going to be driven by one+one passenger, Polo is no-brainer.

But if 2 more on-board, things getting real tough. I can't even sit in rear, with my preferred seating position, and I am not even that tall(~5'6"). While TD'ing Polo, I loved the Grunt, power, driving dynamics of Polo and even I can live without all the other features/gimmicks from i20, but rear space was a big NO for me. I mean, it's not everyday you carry 4 adult in your car, but when your mom comes over and if she can't sit comfortably, hell with it, I don't want that car.
