Re: Tata Aria Comprehensive Road Test Review

TATA are testing Aria A/T since last year and they have started to test Storme A/T from this january onwards(confirmed by a TAI member himself). So when I demand TATA to launch Aria A/T quickly,I only do so because I know they can:)

Edit: My comments were no way negative, infact I am a very positive person.I only said those things in retrospect of what TATA needs to do in near future to revive the sales of Aria.

EDIT 2: I can't reveal the name of TAI member who PMed me about Storme A/T,it's confidential guys. However those who want to know can PM me.I will share the facts only there.

Thanks,

I have seen AT Aria in Auto Expo 2012
the vehicle also has captain middle row seats and beige colour seats.

lets see how soon they'll incorporate the changes mentioned by xover or other people in this forum and on the other forum.

Re: Tata Aria Comprehensive Road Test Review

Oh !! Area M/T is already struggling with price and niggles and a A/T to be released for how much is for 20+ Lakhs[surprise],

See what this "Burn your fuel" article which was posted by Xover says

"Tata Motors has received help from the Jaguar Land Rover on developing the Tata Aria automatic transmission and one should expect to pay a premium to opt an autobox version. Tata Motors has to conclude with a strategy to decrease the price of the Aria ensuring success for a longer period."

Read the last sentence, how fast they do it, then that fast they will get benefitted[:)]

TATA Launches New Entry Variant of its Aria Crossover

TATA Motors has silently launched a new entry level variat of Aria: Pure Lx 4x2.Here are its salient points:

1. Gets single mass flywheel engine as opposed to DMF.

2. No music system.

2. No ABS+A'bags.

3. Retains all 4 disc brakes.

4. Sticker price of around 10 lakh Rupees ex-showroom Delhi.

Here is the official price list:Tata Aria - Luxury that thrills - Price

I am once again disappointed as they haven't re-positioned other variants. And until they do so nothing will change the luck for Aria. Why TATA Why? Why are you such thick headed, why can't you learn from Mahindra, why??[frustration][frustration]

Re: Tata Aria Comprehensive Road Test Review

Xover, the reason is simple..it is TATA[clap]

If you look at the past history of Automobiles in India every manufacturer while launching a new product targets 1 or 2 products in the market which are selling the best, but I have observed this from TATA, they never look at the competition and its moves, they launch things with their own different typical strategy[confused]

Re: Tata Aria Comprehensive Road Test Review

Xover, I can understand your frustration. But One thing I am really excited about is the imagination of owning ARIA at Rs. 10 L ex-showroom price. That would sum it up around about Rs. 12L OTR for Aria. Just WOW. [clap]. I know it is not fully loaded as well and also miss some basic features.

Re: Tata Aria Comprehensive Road Test Review

Are the 4 disc brakes really essential? Instead they would have had gone for rear drum brakes and retain ABS or DMF??? Just a thought.

dude you are missing the point. An essential feature ABS is missing.
For a 2 ton vehicle missing ABS is suicidal.

I am extremely disheartened by TATAs non commitment towards Aria.Even though they have now launched a new entry level variant at 9.95 lakhs, yet they are not showing any ads promoting the same.Really disappointed and frustrated.[frustration]

+100, Xover, What is wrong with their marketing team. Even it is really a bad strategy on the launch of Storm only in few places[anger]. They really loose customers like this.

Re: Tata Aria Comprehensive Road Test Review

For ever Aria lover a must read:Tata Aria (Third report) | Review | Autocar India

Few excerpts from the report:

Since our last report, our Aria has been to the arid lands of Kutch playing support car to a distant relative, the Jaguar XKR (July 2012 issue). It did an admirable job of ferrying four men, their luggage and the TV camera gear on the 2000km round trip. Then, with the onset of the monsoons, our photographers seized an opportunity to drive the Aria to the scenic Bhandardara on an ‘official’ getaway, to return with great praise for the Tata’s long-distance comfort. Clearly, we haven’t really treated this Tata with kids’ gloves. So it’s quite remarkable that our Aria has held up quite well. All mechanicals are in good running order and we’ve had no problems with reliability either, though the cabin is beginning to show some signs of wear.
But what’s really helped the man-machine bonding here is the Aria’s fantastic low speed ride – its supple suspension has seriously got the better of this season’s round of potholes. I’m also greatly impressed by the Aria’s overall refinement. There is little suspension noise and even the engine remains quiet enough. As for the engine, it feels sufficiently powerful for most occasions though some more grunt low-down in the rev range wouldn’t hurt. I also hope Tata can redesign the footwell whenever the facelifted Aria is due – it’s simply too narrow and desperately needs a dead pedal. And while at it, they could also reposition the steering audio controls lower down to a more ergonomic position.
This apart, I’m quite happy with the Aria. Even the fuel efficiency has been a pleasant surprise and is quite good for a two-tonner. We’ve managed a best figure of 10kpl in the city and 13.9kpl out on the highway. With so many positives, it’s a real shame the Aria doesn’t sell more. I hear many Tata dealers are selling the Aria 4x2 with discounts of upto Rs 1 lakh, which makes this well-rounded MPV seriously worth considering.
