One of the most anticipated new car launches next year is the Tata Altroz. While the promotional campaign, which included a number of teasers, had begun a while ago, Tata will officially reveal the India-spec premium hatchback in full on December 3 (8:30pm), at Jaisalmer. Altroz prices will only be revealed in January 2020, though bookings for the premium hatchback will officially begin on December 4 - a day after the car is unveiled - with the booking amount set at Rs 21,000.

Customisation is the biggest usp of this car
Hope it's not going to be costly to customise
All those people who say it doesn't look won't think twice when it comes to buying a baleno, the same people who complaint about mediocre petrol engine will comfortably ignore the best in class diesel engine and go ahead and would buy i20 without any questions, i20 which is much heavier has same specs and even if hyundai puts in 1 litre turbo petrol in next gen, it's also another pathetic engine.

Tata Motors Partners With Google To Launch Altroz Voice BoT

Tata Motors in association with Google, announced the launch of 'Tata Altroz Voice BoT', which is a personalised, interactive voice experience for the Tata Altroz, using the Google Assistant. As is apparent, the Voice BoT is more like an assistant that helps the user to enhance their in-car connected experience by helping them access content. All a user needs is a phone that has a Google Assistant - and say 'Ok Google, Talk to Tata Altroz' to activate the experience by asking any question about the car. The voice assistant can also be paired with the Altroz via Android Auto or Apple Car Play; delivering a fully voice enabled discovery of the car, all the way to even booking a test drive at a dealership of choice.

They should have provided connected car feature instead of this.

All the European car manufacturers are using 3 cylinder engines for these sort of cars but here people are saying it's bad, the same people who will praise hyundai's even smaller 1 litre 3 cylinder engine which has a lot of turbo lag. The same people who bought i20 which has similar power is today complaining about altroz
But this time there are no competition at all those who had swift, baleno or polo diesels in mind will have to buy either altroz or i20, i20 is going to be at least 1 Lakh more expensive.
Like in the case of tiago once people starts to see more and more altroz on the road, sales will go up and haters will be forced to shut up.

There's nothing wrong with the back, it looks stunning like Nexon, a well designed all-rounder.

Tata Altroz To Be Offered With Customisation Packages From The Factory

70fu0l44_tata-altroz_625x300_04_December_19.jpg

The production-spec Tata Altroz has been officially unveiled and we have driven it too and will be sharing our review of the car on December 9, 2019 at 9 am. The all-new offering will compete in the premium hatchback segment against the likes of the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Honda Jazz. Now, Tata Motors is pitching the car to a young customer base and wants to provide a customised buying experience too. So, in a first for an Indian mass market player, the automaker will be offering customisation options on the new Altroz across the five variants - XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O). The customisation options are being offered across four different packages - Rhythm, Style, Luxe and Urban - that will add select features on specific trims. Here's what each of the customisation packs have to offer.

Take away from the launch, detuned diesel and upgraded Petrol engine from tigor with dual vvt, mass balancer unit, high compression ratio.
These may result in better and smoother performance and fuel efficiency.
Lets see how these turn out in media drive reviews.
Looks like we can see JTP versions with petrol and diesel engines from Nexon at Auto Expo 2020 and DSG automatic by Diwali 2020.
Customization option is really useful and buyers can save lot of money by paying only for the features they need.

Disappointed with the ground clearance, are they saving it for a cross version(Altroz NRG)?

Altrozz looks to be a proper city and highway rider with its peak torque coming at 3300 RPM , surely will give it a peppy nature and reduce the lag. Features wise yes, it looks very very classy, however, will need to see how this is being priced and how is this car being sold.

[OT]Tata need to give a 5 star appeal to their showrooms

Ground clearance is meager 5 mm ie half centimeter less than i20 Active and Baleno? How much would that be impacting? most of the car Hatches and sedans have GC around the same range. This is definitely not even a mild offroader so I guess for this class of vehicle I. can live with 165mm GC. I am personally a SUV guy so living with 200mm GC ;) which is again 3 cm more than Altroz.
