Had a chance to explore MMX Canvas HD (A116) today as one of my colleague got it delivered today only.

Initial impressions :
The phone looks beautiful to hold and use. It's very sleek and has a very slight curve like Xperia Arc. Back panel is typical plastic in white. It's the screen that amazed me. A full HD 5" screen demonstrated awesome colors and details. The screen flow was smooth with no lag whatsoever in scrolling. The touch is sensitive almost equivalent to Samsung Galaxy series. The 8MP camera is a bit of disappointment (though not greatly) as my Galaxy I9003 with 5MP can take better crisper pictures. Pinch and zoom gestures render smoothly, however, on full zoom (double tap on the picture) the image pix-elates a lot.

Youtube plays HQ videos by default and they were OKish. I found the colors a bit washed. Stills amazed me with bright and vibrant colors.

Light weight body and a suave design is what I liked personally. Tried opening lot's of apps together and they opened without any lag.

Overall a great gadget that too for around 14K.

Hmm,

Just returned back checking few stores(priority and others) and could not able to get a black L 620 is stock out. there were few available pink,white,yellow but closed inside box and no demo phone anywhere so far.

All are quoting Rs.15000/- only and I do not have any experience of online stores what to do now ??

They have COD option on nokia store itself where it shows available in all shades, delivery within 3 working days, so no need to worry then buddy with COD option right.

If yes, go order it now from Online Nokia Store as suggested by Vijay or simply get from Flipkart.

RK , I called up the store from where I picked up my Xperia SL recently. He has the 620 in black. You can go and pick it up from him. I can ask him to hold if you are certain to buy.

Nokia makes Lumia 620 protective shell official | WMPoweruser


News of a new rugged shell for the Nokia Lumia 620 was leaked last week, and Nokia has today made the accessory official on their Conversations blog.

The Nokia Lumia 620 protective shell (CC-3061) replaces the existing back cover and upgrades the device to P54 certification, meaning it is now certified to improve protection against dust and splashes of water.

Harri Vuolle, Lumia Product Manager at Nokia explains:

“The protective shell improves the dust and splash protection. The gaps between the camera window and the shell as well as the display and the shell are better sealed, and the mesh that covers the loudspeaker is denser, making it harder for water or dust to get in.”

The protective shell has been cast using a dual-shot process. The interior shell is created using a polycarbonate that’s fairly rigid, and the exterior is made of TPSiV, which is more flexible, rubber-like material to increase impact protection. The soft, rubber-like exterior also increases grip.

The shell wraps around the front slightly, creating a raised ‘lip’ that protects the screen more if phone is accidentally dropped.

“While the protective shell does not make your Lumia 620indestructible or 100% waterproof, it’s ideal for people who enjoy active lifestyle where working up a sweat, getting caught up in a rain or dropping the phone can be a regular occurrence. It’s also suits people who want to use their smartphone at work, even if it’s a dusty, damp environment.” Harri explains.

The shell will available in grey with grey exterior and yellow interior, and should hit the market at the end of the month for about 25 Euro.
