I agree with you on the any phone can have problems, but just look at that SAR value thing on those phones. My opinion was a subjective one as per my previous expereience and it may not be wrong when we talk about present phones of MMX or celkon.

@Edios, I have not yet decided on Lumia 620 as I have not seen one directly so far.

I have collated a data on SAR values,all the data has been taken from GSMArena.com - GSM phone reviews, news, opinions, votes, manuals and more..., it seems like Samsung grand has the least scoring, what does this signify can somebody explain.

Micromax Canvas 2 - SAR EU 0.68 W/kg (head)

Nokia Lumia 620 - SAR EU 0.84 W/kg (head)

Samsung Grand - SAR US 0.37 W/kg (head) 1.11 W/kg (body)
SAR EU 0.24 W/kg (head) 0.29 W/kg (body)

Samsung always maintain a very low SAR values and Nokia too earlier. But now if I compare the Lumia 620 with S advanced the SAR value of Lumia is more

Normally I have seen majority of people never look into the SAR values at all, but it is a very important thing for radiation levels and also when SAR is more phone gets heated up very soon.

This means Micromax has done a fantastic job compared to the Nokia, do we have any guidelines set by TRAI regarding the permissible SAR value to sell their handsets ?

All the new design of mobile handsets shall comply with the SAR values of 1.6
W/kg averaged over 1 gram of human tissue effective from 1st Sept. 2012.

The mobile handsets with existing designs which are compliant with 2.0 W/kg
averaged over 10 gram of human tissue, continue to co-exist up to 31st
August 2013. From 1st Sept. 2013, only the mobile handsets with revised SAR
value of 1.6 W/kg would be permitted to be manufactured or imported in
India.

Thanks for the info, on a lighter note , knowing your views on the brand Micromax what do you feel about Canvas 2 beating Lumia with a better SAR levels?

Hahahaha, Visran tough question for me ?? I like to go with a popular brand always, but at the same time I appreciate brands like MMX for making such phones who straight away compete with Galaxy Grand.

So I appreciate MMX for such SAR values and feel bad for Nokia Lumia SAR value at the moment.

Which one I will buy, is something really tricky when I visit the show room and felt to buy one

like i said you were finding reasons for not buying mmx (or say buying lumia)

at the current scenario no established manufacturer has been able to match the vfm factor for their canvas phone.

phone getting heated up and SAR values have no correlation.

phone get heated up due the processor and hardware in it.

a higher clocked processor produces more heat than a slow processor.

all phones when used in 3G or WCDMA/UMTS gets heated up since the the operating frequency for them is higher which results in consumption of more battery , more heat dissipation and hence the heat .

@RK,@Raja some news for you, as we talked about MS offering updates almost all phones etc.
Seems like Microsoft 'temporarily' stopped issuing the updates(7.8) for many Nokia phones(Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800, and 900) in Russia, because of the fact that tiles dragged too much of data and battery!
I know this can happen to any OS, that is the problem mostly faced by the android devices where people say it is battery hog!

you are right .

And once the bug is ironed out the update will roll again . They have stoped it for now as a prevention.

And gurralla if buys a win phone its going to be a lumia 620 and its win 8 so no worries for him .

Hmm Friends,

Finally back from a store and seen much awaited Lumia 620 in flesh, so what is my reaction ??

Defenately I will not say WOW here, but YES, it is a wonderful simple phone to have and everything goes very well and pretty fast. Color : Black

1. Easy to handle, fits in hand properly and no slipping
2. Screen size is sufficient(since I use wave 525 with 3.2") looks big.
3. scrolling is just smooth enough and pretty fast whatever you open
4. Design is simple and looks rich to me
5. Camera performance is really good and the camera button is soft well placed.
6. Phone looks well built and a smooth flat screen and good finish
7. I could not check the pressesor speed or browsing speed there was no sim
8. Bluetooth sharing works well(I have transferred pics from L 620 to my phone)
9. Quoted price Rs.15000/-(negotiable)

Store visited : Universal

Presently no stock, will arrive in 2 days as all the pieces sold out. Check with two priority showrooms, no stock and no demo piece. Even Universal doesn't have a demo piece, I have checked a piece belongs to one of the nokia executive visited the store.
Most of the shops were closed on the account of holiday(day after shivratri)

What is my final verdict : Value for money and simple phone and I may buy one as waiting for the stock to arrive and meanwhile check S advanced once again and take final call on 13.03.13
Worth waiting 4 months : YES
