@ nitin.
Not talking against you.
In general what i meant is if one needs a smartphone, one would need to stay connected .
Now tell me does it make sense to subscribe to a 2G data plan and buy an full HD phone?

That is like driving a ferrari and using kerosene as a fuel.

very true, no one wants to pay for 3g but want the best of speeds for browsing.
people have SLR's and stand alone cameras blah blah but will fight over a few pixels & clarity of a mobile which they dont even own nor will ever buy.

and there are people like me who have full HD LED's but still use cable wallah set top box

Re: Suggest a New Android Phone Around 15k

Ok MSN,

Now a question, may be funny

My present phone is with 1200mAh and after full charge and reasonable amount of calls in a day, if I switch it to internet for 10 to 20 minutes of usage, 75% of battery get drained off[surprise] is this because of dated OS,processor speed,RAM ??
forget to tell one thing

80 % of times am using Internet only on my home wifi and yes i agree most phones drain battery on 3g
am using lg p500 600 mhz processor / android gingerbread os / 512 mb ram / 1500 mah battery

have set my gmail settings on android to manual sync when ever i need
set all installed apps not to update automatically on google play
set all other mail /sync settings to manual
and still some background apps "boliwoodji" those crap apps installed by LG am not able to remove they are still running on my phone in background

nowadays 1200 mah bat is not capable for for current gen internet usage

Ok, then the 1300mAh battery of Lumia 620 will be also not sufficient [confused] just for moderate usage and same kind of situation as you have written about closing everything and use them whenever required

^Haven't you read the link I posted? That's were WP8 wins which it suspends all apps which are not running in foreground.

P.S: That's not a problem for you I guess. [;)]

Since we are talking about the background process, killing the tasks..Check this image, this is from my battery usage display from my Samsung Galaxy S2
Screenshot_2013-02-23-22-16-57.png

Check the 'screen on' part, here you can see when I have swiched on my phone(out of sleep). Either I received the call or connected to web. See the corresponding 'Awake' indicators. See here my phone should be awake only when i switch on my screen. In the screen shot i posted its working perfectly. If your phone is doing something in the background, then you would see 'Awake' bars when your phone should be sleeping. When this happens your phone drains the battery. There are lot of other utilities available to track and pin point the rogue application. As long as you configure your apps I think no need for task killers etc. In my case I have 3 email accounts, 4 Calenders sync at interval of 15 min(check the 'wifi indicator' on the pic) GPS switches on when ever it needs the weather update. My phone has been charged 100% and in standby since 5 hours and its about 87% battery left. Ofcourse if I use my phone for browsing for longer time it will drop faster(But nothing you can do here) But unwanted things generally are the root cause of battery drain.

Gurrala, just think it in the positive way, 620 is a bit more expensive, so is the L620 better![thumbswink]

Yes, might be edios, but that perfect rectangular designs i like more than the curved one's. I have just noticed that 520 doesn't come with camera flash[:)], but still love that design so much

Buddy i really understand that one would really think all before plunging its hard owned money into any gadgets which serves his needs fully. But then also remember there would be one or the other which you would feel amiss.
So take the plundge with the handset you feel serves u completely,as new products new launches will keep on happening and would confuse you more.

Re: Suggest a New Android Phone Around 15k

@Vijay

I agree with you completely. Yes if it was a handset for 5 to 6k I would have not bothered much, but I stretched my budget from 10k to 15k and for it is not a small amount(I mean a reasonable middle level budget), so what I choose, I just cannot decide it has some serious short comings and I buy a new one quickly. The real problem these days is more and more offerings and quickly changing technologies in the market[frustration].

Yes I need to select a handset which mostly fulfill my needs. Just waiting to see a W8 phone(620)then I will take a call
