Re: Starting a Used Car Restoration Business – Suggestions Invited

Hi Anand, I find your interest on cars and its maintenance,if you are really interested in restoring old cars and to do its business as the thread head indicates,
then i would suggest to go for a short Chassis old model willys jeep in scrap condition.
A diesel engine endorsed willys has a market of 2.5L back here.
If you can find one with a good RC records, scrap condition for 25k then the game is on...

The normal car business may empty your pocket and hurt your passion,
i have friends who do dirty jobs to sell their cars for living.

Hi Alex,

Thank you for the suggestion, as you might have read in other threads my budget is very limited & I have to make my way through a couple of good deals to do a project like Jeep. Secondly every car (used/new) is costly in Bangalore than any other place (I have no idea what the reason is) hence a scrap Jeep is quoted way above my willingness.

The Big Update:

Okay I guess everyone knows the 100th post in this thread, I had posted a used M800 blue which had Hankook tyres - I bought it. I am starting a new thread to post the restoration (although slow) pics & details. Thank you everyone for the valuable inputs. I am posting all details over there.

It is really good to start a business and the idea is good but selecting the right car is more important. I don’t think M1000 will work out. There are many cars available in market which you can restore like painting, polishing and do car service so that you can sell at good price.
