I am not against for Skoda Fabia here at all, which was my 1st selection while buying Ritz and I could not bought it because it was slightly out of my budget. And there is lot of difference in built and finish of the Fabia and a Ritz. But that should not make them to collect more charges. Yes I agree with the reasons you told, but a Skoda sales guy told me that they have localised lot of parts and spares upto large extent, but the things like brake test and some crowl top something looks to me like culprits for the high bill

Why not?
You should look at a product in totality right from purchase to maintenance. For a company the total cost is inclusive of selling as well as servicing.

As far as spare parts are concerned, Fabia's ORVM will definitely cost more than a swift's ORVM simply because the former is tougher!

Please consider my comment only to the service charges and not spares here. Yes spares may be costly as per their quality, I agree with you on that as a buyer we always expect them to be bit cheap[:)]if possible by producing locally

Like I said, you have to take a product in totality- sales and after sales belong to the same pack. When the overall quality of product is superior, then all the costs related to it will be more be it while selling or servicing. The equipments used for servicing at Skoda, the facility of workshop, the labor wages etc. would be a notch higher than those with other manufacturers, and hence effectively the servicing would be higher priced too.

Gives me around 12 in city and generally 15 on highway.......made a trip to mangalore from mumbai and back just last month and it gave me a pleasant 18 kmpl [:D] (Drove without Aircon!!!)

My friend finally bought the fabia top model [:)] don't know the model. Otr 6,18,000.

Talked to him after so many days. Will upload pics after TD [:D]

Must be the top end model.
Good choice but unluckily Fabia has been discontinued. Did he get high discounts?

Yeah they got more than 1 lakh rupees discount. I told him about the maintenance cost, skoda service as well as the discontinuation. But they liked the car a lot [:)] top end still no defogger, Electronic folding mirror. And I think they got parking sensors.

Its got the rear defogger, but not electric folding mirrors (too bad)

Those wooden trims on centre console seems like an eyesore.[cry]

Hey I have a question. My friend told me that there is no provision to turn off the fog lamps [surprise] he said I don't how to turn it off.

Also they provided superb's manual. What the hell.
