one cannot distinguish and confirm the originality of the product.
I could not find the manufacturer name etc. on any seat cover.
If that is the case & one wants to play it a bit safer then probably go with the bigger stores like below which give receipt for payment & some warranty guarantee etc.?

Welcome To Reliance Autozone

Anybody have experience & feedback on above store?

Lucky you guys have a reliance autozone.A lot of products under one roof.

It is a good place to start looking atleast to get a feel for the quality and price point. You can try to source similar covers at local shops and bargain for a better price.

Hmm very interesting like you say they are not in Mumbai. It surprising to see a Reliance group company not having a Mumbai outlet.

Also we are all assuming that bigger store will charge more but if you see the model on which these stores work is more sales at lowest prices. But I will surely check them out!

They do not have an outlet in Mumbai. We would really love an autozone here.

What color are in your mind buddy for seat covers?

Are you thinking of Interior wooden trim?

No wood trim for sure.

For the color would like to keep it as close to the rest of interior or maybe go for a contrast.Nothing wild.

It would also depend on what is available at the time.

dropped into one of the Reliance autozone outlets today evening & man they have lot of stuff, pretty much an auto enthusiast's paradise. An entire large section for alloys etc. shop was like 1500sqft.

Ok seat covers seem expensive though they offer 1-2 years warranty & give receipt as well as accept cards.

3 qualities:

For seven seater SUV these are the rates roughly

1. Rexine quality 7K+ with one year warranty. Not heat resistant. very thin stuff. might start tearing in 2 years.
2. PVC/Art leather quality 14K+ with two year warranty. Better heat resistance.
3. PU leather quality 20K+ with two year warranty. Better than PVC.

Thickness varies 1mm to 2mm

Got another weird suggestion from a reputed seat cover maker today, the covers which come with the car are usually a layer of fabric for the seating & backrest portion & rest behind & sides is non-fabric washable stuff like art leather. The only reason people put leather seat covers is the fabric layer that OEMS provide is a dust catcher but otherwise if that does not bother so much then one can use the same original seats for a year or two then get the fabric layer removed as it would be dirty by then which most seat cover makers have to remove anyways while installing leather seat covers.

So go for proper seat covers after using the original seats the way we got from OEM for say 2 years. I found it strange because he was turning away a potential customer by saying that.

That's actually a sensible suggestion too to live with OEM seat covers for 1 - 2 years and then install seat covers. However, if seats are beige they will get dirty within 2 - 3months of usage itself (irrespective of running full time AC and maintaining well).

Only down side, many of us don't mind doing an initial investment since we would have planned a budget. However 1 - 2 years down the line, we consider it as a maintenance expense & hence try to avoid.

IMO, the art leather seat covers will most likely last for the life time of the car & hence good idea to install them when new itself. In my previous car I had installed gSport which lasted and remained like new for 5 years and 1.1Lakh kms.

The ertiga has fabric all over not just in the seating and back rest portion.

The 800 came with factory art leather/rexine cover. These were good for almost 10 years.

If budget was not an issue I'd go for genuine pure leather. These last the longest.
