26 days is very very bad! Even i find TATA a little slow on delivering spare parts but my Safari has waited maximum 10 days not more than that.

It’s quite a matter of surprise that it took so long for people at Mahindra’s A.S.S to arrange spare parts for a popular car like Scorpio.

Actually, it went this long because i was very easy with them. since i am here in mumbai & the car is in kerela, i was never really anxious or firm. but suddenly yesterday it dawned to me that its been quite a long time that my car is in the A.S.S! so i gave them a call to which they said it will be delivered tomorrow.

i was about to write everything together but since you asked, a small update-

the car is ready & the bill amounts to 29k. but the A.S.S also mentions of a fault in the alternator. since we are in no mood to repeat our earlier mistake (of ignoring the A.S.S's findings), we give them a go ahead sign to repair the alternator too. the SA told me that the alternator will be directly sent to the Bosch authorized service centre & serviced & that it will cost around 5k. a day later, i get a call from the SA that the amount will be 6.5k as an oil seal has to be replaced. i ask them the price of a new one & they say it 8k. so i told them to install a new alternator.

so the new alternator will be fitted & i will be getting the car in 2-3 days. bill amount will be close to 38k!!!

Hmmm i have even a longer story and a bill even costlier than yours for my just 89k clocked Safari! Will update in my ownership thread soon.

Well yeah the problem of spare availability even haunts my Safari as mine is a 3.0L Dicor its hard getting spares as most people only opt for the 2.2 VTT one!

After the timing belt change, my oldie has become like new. She has become very silent now & still has a strong pull when you floor the throttle!

no other issues like rattling or noises from anywhere.

Some pics of my oldie-

Hey Rajeev, your Scorpio is shining.
thanks buddy.

Nice maintainance Raj.
But the black cap on Footstep is missing:biggrin:
thanks mukesh.

you mean the rear footstep? it was not black, it was body coloured. a car rear ended my scorpio & it broke. i dint get the replacement yet from mahindra.

frankly, after 3-4 attempts, even i dint bother to ask the A.S.S.!
