Re: Restoration of 1986 Gypsy

no chasis ? no gear box ? or is it laying somewhere near?

restoration to some true suv with meaty rubber would definitely be worth a ride to drool around.

Hmmm...! Gypsy finds her own way ahead any modern SUVs.

I hope each & every bit needs restoration.
Wish to see the monster alive shortly.

only one question where is the engine [lol]

BTW what's your plan

Engine and chassis are in good condition . previous owner did the engine rebuild and lost interest in this and sold to us.

Restoring it to an offroad vehicle

Plan 1
Sandblast the body
patchwork
painting
buy missing parts
Reassembling the vehicle

Problem - Here No workshop guys are willing to take this work

plan 2
Buy new gypsy tub (dont know how ,where ,cost etc)
painting
buy missing parts
Reassembling the vehicle

[frustration]many portions in body needs patchwork. the original body condition can be revealed after the sandblasting.

it is 4wd.our purpose for this vehicle is pure offroading.
transfer case need an overhaul.

Re: Restoration of 1986 Gypsy

i think 4wd lever getting stuck is common problem for gypsy.
This happens if you leave the 4wd unused for long time or it is not properly lubricated.
so we are doing an overhaul to the TC. dont want to get stuck in sticky situation.

@mastersquall-sir can you please elaborate your friends gypsy problem, did he rectify it, if so how?
