Re: Powered By M-Hawk: Mahindra Scorpio SLE. 6 Years and 1,00,000+ Kms,

Hi Manoj,

Do you know of any solution to the problems that I am facing ?

http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...chnical-problems-solutions-15.html#post488757

Since I did not get any response, I posted my questions in your thread. Sorry for the re-post.
Both the issues should be addressed at the Mahindra A.S.C.
1. Regarding the TPMS, ask them to reprogram it and set the correct tyre pressures in all tyres. If the issue reappears, go back to the A.S.C and ask them to scan and replace the faulty sensor.
2. Regarding the center lock alarm, the problem is most likely to be associated with the driver side lock and the electricals. There appears that the system is misinterpreting it as some kind of intrusion or theft.

Take your vehicle to the A.S.C and they should be able to sort them out. TPMS correction might require multiple visits though in order for them to correct them completely.
If there any incompetency in the workmanship, do shoot an email to customercare/Mahindra who have been very prompt and supportive, to me at least.

Re: Powered By M-Hawk: Mahindra Scorpio SLE. 6 Years and 1,00,000+ Kms,

Thanks for the suggestions.

I will take the vehicle to the service center. Whenever there is a change in Service Manager, the service quality also changes.

I understand. It is for the same reason I make it a point to send my vehicle to Trissur though there is one ASC just about 20 km away. Inconsistency in competency/workmanship is still a concern, though they have come a long way over the last 3-4 years or so. The key is you need to make them know your standards and expectations, even if you may have to teach them the hard way.
My SM @ Eram Motors/Trissur is a true gentleman and professional who has the right attitude and expertise for the job. Mahindra needs to find people like him at other centres as well. In fact I don't have to write to Mahindra these days, though I know the Regional CC manager here.

Please do update here once you are back from ASC.

Update on the total service cost as of today. Got the figures from Mahindra, since I don't keep any record myself. It's on the higher side, but then you might partly put blame on the perfectionist in me.[:)]

Update:
Scorp gets a couple of accessories !
1. Hella twin tone horns- One of the OE horns had gone bad, hence got them replaced. Now these complement my other Roots Megasonic horns beautifully.
2. Hella 700FF lights. Looks great and lits up the road quite superbly.
Pictures will be up shortly.

Re: Powered By M-Hawk: Mahindra Scorpio SLE. 6 Years and 1,00,000+ Kms,

ODO : 1095xx km
update: Butter smooth, no issues at all.
_DSC1216.jpg

A couple of dedicated switches : one for the lights and the other for the horns.
The Roots Megasonics are into their 7th year and there hasn't been any issues at all. Quality wiring kit + installation, the key. Megasonics are really loud but these days these are very common among 2/3 wheelers in here, apart from those on the Police vehicles. The Hella twin tone horns are more 'civilised ', quite sharp too and doing the job well these days.

Scorp parked as I had a couple of hours of birding this morning ![;)]

Hi Manoj, are you on Vacation?
Congrats on the round figure.

Roots Megasonic is really loud. I too installed on my vehicle. I too agree on your point that the sound is not 'civilised'. The Roots Vibersonic is more apt and mostly installed on Toyota Innovas.

The installation of Megasonic on my vehicle is not proper. At times the sound is not coming proper, similar to irritated throat. May be the horn is touching the radiator frame. I have to show to Nippon Toyota. It got installed at Toyota showroom and having additional toggle button in the wiring.

Thanks. Yes, this vacation is a bit longer and special. A new member in the family = a little baby girl [:)]

Yes. Quality wiring and installation is the key. I think I had to just replace a rely [roots] once, ever since I got them on in 2009.

Update:
ODO: 1105xx km
Issues faced: Absolutely NONE, not even any minute rattle !
No big trips but had done many small local birding trails around, mostly off the road. Lovely vehicle this. It's been long time since I checked the FE. Will do it and update.

Re: Powered By M-Hawk: Mahindra Scorpio SLE. 6 Years and 1,00,000+ Kms,

Update:
ODO: 114300 km

Scorp is due for another scheduled service, added some10000km since the last service. In spite of having thrown around in rains and off roads during my local birding trails, there isn’t even a single rattle from anywhere. Since I am mostly occupied with my little baby girl + some photography sessions during free time, I am spending least of the time pampering the beast ever since it’s arrival in 2009.

The most important to report : Michelins have been phenomenal, both on and off the road especially in rains. Now can’t think of any other brand when it comes to tyres for any of my future purchases.

Re: Powered By M-Hawk: Mahindra Scorpio SLE. 6 Years and 1,00,000+ Kms,

Hey Manoj,
Great to hear that. Even i love the Michelins, they are excellent in rains. Or any road conditions.
I make sure i remove the small pebbles and rocks that accumulate into the tyres, so that the grip is intact.
