Chill brother. Think atleast you got Osaram bulbs as stock in Headlight. As per maruti standarad, you would get 4 Halonix or something cheaper than that.

the above comment is from my experiance and the brand i got something else, which i dont remember. I had replaced the bulbs to Osaram night breaker plus due to the bad lights and i have 4 bulb available as spare.

Possible cheating is they do not do wheel alignment and balancing and will charge for it
They will charge you on brake cleaning and wont
They wont change AC filter and charge on you.
They wont change fuel filter and charge on you.
And at new car delivery time they convince you for a Teflon and just use some wax and charge on Teflon(They knew a new car need no Teflon)

and so on.

Yes stock bulbs are normal yellowish itself. I mean I not opted for whitish when upgrading.
Thanks! Actually looks absolutely identical to both the Osram and Halonix ones. Even the figures claimed about output and life are identical for all three.

You went for the yellowish Rally bulbs?

The only reason I may consider not getting bluish/whitish is because it won't match my foglights! But you're never supposed to use both simultaneously so I guess it doesn't matter! [:D]

Good point, but is there anything in the world cheaper than Halonix? [;)]

That's true, but nobody does anything to my car without me standing there looking menacing, so no worries there! [lol]

The wax thing actually happened to my relative once!
Teflon is necessary in very few conditions, for example Teflon was the first thing I got done on my X-Trail when it was new, because the dust and pollution levels over there was terrifying, especially as I was almost always off-road. The conditions would eat the paint for breakfast!

I am not at all surprised. But that's not cheating, it is cost cutting measure.
MSIL also sometimes provides spare tyre a size smaller than the size available on the other wheels.

Yes.

I do also have a pair of 55W yellowish fog lamps. But that is not the issue, if matching was the issue then I would have changed both to the desired color[evil]

Hi,

Need your help and advise. I got a 2013 model Maruti Zen Estilo in xchange of my old Alto. The issue is that the new vehicle makes a grinding noise (two rods clashing and rubbing against each other) near the front wheels. Not sure if the rack and pinion is worn out. There is also a doubt that the parts have been tampered with. Wish to know about your views so that I can take it up with dealer and Maruti.

Thanks
Srinivas

I find those space savers more annoying than anything, because they're pretty much useless as replacements. One of the first things I checked at the dealer was to make sure they hadn't done that. [;)]

True. But visibility is more important than looks. Are your fog lamps the factory fitted ones? If they are, they have H3 bulbs right? I haven't had the chance to dissect mine and am planning on replacing the bulbs.

Has this issue been present since you took delivery of the car?
Do you know which components are contacting each other?
Does this occur constantly or only in certain situations (eg. Hitting a bump)?
Is the car under warranty?

I know it's a lot of questions, but it will help us accurately diagnose the issue!

Has this issue been present since you took delivery of the car? - Yes
Do you know which components are contacting each other? - Probably Rack and Pinior or transmission rod connecting the wheels with steering box/gear box. The occurs at wheels end only
Is the car under warranty? I just took delivery last saturday
Does this occur constantly or only in certain situations (eg. Hitting a bump)?
When moving in uneven roads, speed breaker. Even in smooth roads, we can hear the noise. Two rods hitting one another (similar to road roller iron wheels making noise when they come in contact)

Yes, visibility it more important. But I didn't get your point. According to you which colored headlights helps in better visibility?

No, its a cheapo aftermarket fog lamp. Now I'm thinking about projector HID/LED fogs.

Well, it seems very unlikely that it will be a rack and pinion issue, seems like something related to the suspension or wheel linkages. the best way to check this would be to turn the wheels fully to one side and jack up the wheel to the side where it is turned (ie. If you turn the wheels right jack up the front right wheel). Give all the components a good wobble, if anything has more than half an inch of play it is likely your culprit. Repeat this with the other side. I am asking you to jack it up to take the load off the suspension.

Just curious, how come you took delivery of a new 2013 estilo last week?

It's a rather long story behind this but I have found bluish tinted foglamps to be more helpful in foggy conditions than yellow or white ones, especially as they make road markings much easier to see.

Since headlamps are used in clear weather only, I generally find higher temperature (whiter) lamps less strenuous for long periods.

I wouldn't recommend LED fogs because the output won't be high enough. HID projector fogs are very focused and will cause too much reflection/backscatter, blinding you! [surprise]

You are under warranty so no worries.
As it is a new one there is less chance on the probs you mentioned.
Brake caliper may make sound even in new estilo and alto, check for it.
I did had on my alto soon after the delivery.

Anyways your experience seems to be more correct. Since Delhi is good at fogging.[;)]

Considering Phillips Rally 100/90w in our climatic conditions, I had no issues with its color or visibility. So I'm happy. [:)]

Its just a plan, I use to have more attraction towards LEDs that is why it is under consideration. LEDS will be used only if I found it to be good.

2013 models are available at a discount of Rs 70K with other freebies. Hope they don't create other issues as in my case. Also, I wanted to change my Alto hence got a better deal at cheaper price.

The steering is hard here compared to that of test drive vehicle along with the sound/noise I mentioned earlier. Incidentally, the same sound came in my previous Alto for which the steering box was changed.

Thats nice deal. Here dealers are not giving loyalty bonus for Estilo and I did not opt for exchange bonus too.
Btw, Are they giving free accessories too?
