Hello members.

Not exactly 'on topic', but I guess this small query didn't warrant another thread. MODS may do so if they wish.

I was casually checking my PUC certificate and found out that the registration number entered is incorrect. This highlighted part in DL10 CE 1234 (random number just for example) is incorrect in the certificate. It is valid till Feb 2017 and I have been carrying the same since 4 Nov.

Should I be worried about it? The image of number plate on certificate shows the correct registration number and I carry all the documents all the time.

Regards,
Alpha
As long as the image has your car's registration plate. Do not bother.

I am using bike from 2009, car from 2013 and wife’s bike from 2012 in Chennai, till day I haven’t gone through any pollution check or obtained any PUC certificate. I don’t even remember any of my friends, neighbors or colleagues have undergone this or even police asked for this.

During my stay in Hyderabad before relocating to Chennai, I have done this PUC for every 6 months for all the vehicles I used.

Chennai guys, please throw me some light.

PUC "Polution Under Control Certificate",
for a brand new car, PUC is not required for first Year.
even if a police guys asks, you can tell them, car is not 1 year old. they may ask for RC to check registration date.
after 1 year is completed, you need to renew PUC every 6 month.

while generating PUC, they will capture a picture of car's number plate, and that picture will be printed on PUC certificate.

You need to keep PUC always with vehicle, duplicate copy is not allowed.
same follows for both car and two wheelers

Newer pollution check norms for diesel vehicles

I have noticed that from past 1 month in kerala for diesel vehicles pollution check they check engine rpm also ie pollution levels at high mid and low levels of engine rpm.Engine rpm is monitored by a magnetic sensor attached to engine inlet tubing.(Not sure as per the techinician at vehicle testing centre.) What i want to point out is i feel rather irritated at my vehicle engine rpm at idling being raced to high rpm for a pollution check.
