Re: Ownership Experience of Manza Aura Quadrajet - 4000 Kms Completed

Also he told that now Manza Oil service schedule has changed. For 10,000 kms itself oil has to be changed. I asked in Manual its given 20000 kms or 1 year whichever comes first. But he said rules are changed now. how come for a engine service schedule will be changed in middle. I m at loss [frustration]. Can anyone explain ?? Is it possible to check with customer care about these details.
Here is the letter I found from tata at the TASC when I went for my 4th servicing, I changed oil & used 0W40 (expensive option) but got to know that it has to be changed every 10000kms as per new circular, No reason has been given & I dont understand when we were sold the car we were told 20000 service schedule how can they change now no one is answering. Dealer said that they found 20000kms service was causing problem for the cars hence it is now changed to 10000kms which simple means approx 5000-6500 servicing cost every 10000kms.

A jump of 100% cost every 10000kms
The last line of the letter says the manza from plant is shipped with 5W40, I was assuming my manza had 0W40.

My 4th service @ 20500kms cost was as follows

3.2 lts engine oil 0W40 3343/-
oil filter changed 362/-
Diesel filter changed 1800/- (to be changed every 20000kms)
air filter was being replaced but I found that the manual says 40000kms so I didn't changed instead got it cleaned I hardly travel in dust environment.

Total cost 6265/-

Re: Ownership Experience of Manza Aura Quadrajet - 5300 Kms Completed

That is not tank full capacity instead the software is calculating that he traveled a leg of 887 kms which consumed 50.80lts fuel giving him leg mileage as 17.46kmpl.
I do full tank & often fill 42-43 lts in my tank so only 1lt fuel is left in my tank at that time.
Rudolf,
Meantime, please check the fuel stations where you fill diesel.
Manza tank capacity is 44 litres.
You will always have some quantity left in the tank. Almost 7 to 8 litres in reserve. You have shown full tank fillings of 50.8 litres and 45.9 litres which is even beyond the fuel tank capacity.
Actually the comments I added in excel sheet is not visible in the snapshot. Those 2 times due to unavoidable circumstances I have to fill in middle of journey at a local pump near Kolar. So instead of full tank added some litres of Diesel in between. But did not reset the trip meter. Later at my usual pump i did Full tank. I added that x litres with the auto cutoff reading and calculated the FE using cumulative distance . So the values show 50.8 and 45.9 lts. Below is the FE snapshot with comments.

[confused] I have run my car for 20000+kms within one year and then changed the oil.

Wonder if any damage has been done to my engine...[thinking]

Even the engine oil drain period in my car is 20,000 kms, but manufacturer recommends oil change at 15000 kms, i do it at 10,000 kms.

This ensures the life of engine in the long run.

Same with me too I am yet to complete 12 months but I dont see any damage to engine, it seems tata wants to make money by forcing everyone change oil (supplied by tata themselves) every 10000kms whereas this fiat engine is quite capable & while selling this is a USP for manza.

Why did your Dealer/SA not say about the circular. As per manual service schedule what was did to your car was fine. When was your oil change done??. I think the circular was sent by TATA recently dated March 12th only after discovering some problems if oil changed at 20K kms. Or may be its TATA way of fleecing cutomers to sell their or their vendors products.

gypsy: Did you change oil at 10,000 kms also and then 2nd time during 20,000 kms. Or this is the first time.

When I went for the first service, they said Oil changing is in 20000 km.

During 3rd service at 10000 km, I have asked for Oil change and they did.

Noticed that engine has become smoother after the oil change.

{I have seen in some threads about change in oil change intervel. May be they would have found out some problem due to long intervel}

How long do you plan to use manza 1.5-2 lakh kms or more?

TATA instructed dealers only in March as per the circular. Good that you changed during 10K and enjoying smoother ride.

Anyways for me the 1st year would come just around the time before or when i complete 10,000 kms. For 7 months I have run only 5300 kms. So next 5 months I would around 4,000 kms. Probably 1 st year would come before 10K kms and 3rd service oilchange all will happens in 1st year.

You said it all buddy...^^..

The actual oil degradation starts right after 12,000 kms , so manufacture recommends change at 15,000 kms in my case, though the actual drain period is 20,000 kms.

I got my 4th service done towards the end of January this year. I think this service update has happened much later.

Hope no serious damage to my engine.[frustration] I don't see any difference in pickup/turbo boost or whatever. The car is running fine.

Engine parts are not so brittle hence engine damage due to longer oil change interval is negligible, IMHO it only effects the mileage & pick up.

Which oil did you change to 0W40 or 5W40 & what was your total 4th service bill?

Gypsy: Can you tell me what advantage 0W40 has over the 5W40 grade oil. I remembe ryou mentioning it somewhere. But forgot whetehr it was HR or Tornado thread.
