New Honda Brio SMT - Ownership Review

My dealer too told me that red is not available. so what abt the deal? Honda is running out of all colors.

The dealer says new month will have new prices , new discounts / offers. Guess will have to renegotiate on deal .

also not sure whether going forward, Honda will manufacture only the new SMT (with electronic ORVM and mud guards) or the old one will still be available?

No only new one will be available. 11K more. so what you plan to do. contact other dealers in delhi.

I'm a proud owner of Honda Brio SMT Urban Titanium

I just came across this thread and really thankful to sudeep.roy & santoclauz and the other readers to keep giving their inputs & to keep this thread alive.

I had booked my car in Oct'11 and got the delivery of the car in April'12
It really feels nice that I wanted a Brio from the time I saw it & I stuck to it because of the delay in the delivery for such a long time.

Though now they are giving a lot of freebies and the updated price by the other post gives me a feeling that the VMT version is a really good deal.

Anyways my post was regarding the service

While selling the car dealers say they have 2 services with Brio which is free
The 1st service is free but
actually they charge for the 2nd service (which is about 2500/- they say they are not charging for service but these are for labor charges
Is this correct? or should it be free?

Please post if you have a similar experience

Also what's the recent price for the extended warranty for a Brio SMT Option can anyone please update?

Coincidentally, even I had booked my Brio in Oct '11 and got the delivery in Apr'12. The wait was well worth it and this statement comes after almost 6 months of ownership. Brio certainly loves you back

I had opted for the 2 Year EW while booking the car and I guess it was 7k then. Didnt opt for RSA, which I think I should now. Seems very helpful when your car gets stalled in the middle of nowhere.
My query is what does the EW cover??

My Brio's due for its 2nd free service nxt month. I dont think anything should be charged for the service as it's termed "FREE". Do contact Honda directly if you feel you are being taken for a ride.

I'm sorry if I have missed reading your ownership thread. Do keep posting your comments and suggestions here. They will be extremely valuable. Also, since we both are from the same city, it'll help compare the FE, Service and Cost related queries with respect to Mumbai.

i have checked with 3 dealers in delhi (automax, RRH and courtsey), none of them have SMT in urban titanium.
either i chose some other color or another variant or wait for november.

tbh i am not too keen spending additional 11-12k for electronic OVM. Higher variant looks unlikely since my original budget was under 5 lacs. So the choice will be another colour or wait for next month. [thinking]

i got EW for Rs 4900 on 27/8 , The 7k you are mentioning must include RSA also.

Even I booked my Brio SMT (White) in Oct '11, and got delivery in April '12. There are 2 free services with it. My both free services has been done. In the 2nd free service they had only charged for the change of engine oil and no labor charges were applied.

I would say I was lucky enough to get an Brio without wait in March 2012 itself :).

Did my second service this month only, they charged me Rs 1297.
ENGINE OIL 1075.25
WASHER PLUG DRAIN 20.75
OIL FILTER CARTRI 201.21


I think you might have been charged for synthetic oil.

Just had a talk with my dealer & they confirmed me with september month manufactured vehicle,previously they insisting me to accept MAY month manufactured vehicle which i didnt agreed.

Although they now want me to sign pre insurance papers as honda might discountinue free insurance in the coming month which i really doubt.
Will transfer my funds on monday and courier the documents for rto registration.

Hope to get my vehicle in 5-7 days.

Guys,
I usually park my Honda BRIO outside my home (since no inside parking available) and day before yesterday i found a small dent on RHS on the car (just near the front right turn indicator the door), seems somebody has just brushed the car at night. I know we cannot prevent such incidents.
But now can we claim such small dent repairing charges through insurance or is it advisable to go through some small shops? If so any idea where we can get it done in bangalore and how much cost. Its a very smalll dent (may not be visible at the first look). Whats you guys opinion ?

Sorry to hear about the dent.

If the damage is small, its better to shell out the repair charges from the pocket itself. IMO go to HASS, and get a quotation of repair works, if they are huge, better to claim insurance. Do post a pic of the damage.

Finally got a call from the service center & they told me they replaced the engine oil. They charged me 1240/-

So basically the 2nd Service is not a Free Service like the 1st.
Its only labor free Service and they don't inform you before hand that would be chargeable. Then whats the point by dealers saying like 2 Services are Free? Free is completely misquoted

I have booked Honda Brio SMT and on road price with RSA+Ext Warranty+floor Mat+Car Cover is 4.75 @ Ring Road Honda MG Road . The delivery is scheduled for this week itself.

I am thinking that it seems to be 5K-10K costlier ??

Hey Guys,

I booked Honda Brio E MT (UT) last week and will get it delivered on 31st Oct, 2012. Too much excited about my first car.

My budget was not much and hence I have to settle down with base model, but I hope it will be a good experience for me. Also, I heard that the default music system in car was not good.

I am planning to get the music system and other accessories for my car from outside.

Request all the Brio owners to share their experience with me regarding the process @ the time of taking delivery. What things do I need to ask my dealer and what are the other things I should take care of ? What check-ups will you suggest ? And anything else I should keep in mind...

Your help in this regard would be really very helpful.

I will also be sharing Ownership Review with my car, on a separate post once I get my car delivered. :)
