You can try entering the car (unauthorised way, i.e. with key in key slot or something similar) when it is armed.

Well we have to become a thief to make this feature see how it works[glasses]
We have to use some tool to try opening the door lock between windows,or by opening boot lock by pick lock, to activate the alarm,
Otherwise to check whether all functions of Figo is working fine one has to
1. Switch on ignition(dont crank engine, just on the ignition)
2. Hold brake for 3 to 5s and turn indicator stalk to open diagnostic mode
3. Here one can use indicator stalks to switch between menus and check all cars functions

I believe the troubleshooting method is written in Figos user manual, check that for further info on how diagnostic service works.

@allhyundaicars - I'm happy to know you're getting 18.7 km FE, is this the best you get within the city?

Mileage will increase, it will stabilize to a value once the car has run over 8000 kms, and with 1st oil change it will give the best balance of mileage and power.
All cars are actually like that, usually Japanese cars set to good mileage earlier say with 5000 kms of use, European cars will take some more time to stabilize,
Its the ECU, its got a learning curve that learns the drivers usual shift points, clutch use and gear change intervals that gets stored in ECU,
ECU will have a default values for all these and thats what sets the up shift and down shift points in indicator, once the ECU maps the drivers driving charecter it overwrites the new learned file and prepares engine for best mileage+power ratio, if driver is sedate the ECU tunes engine for a little lazy response,if driver is aggressive it tunes engine more for power and gives less importance to mileage,
This is there in all 1.5 TDCI s, I have experienced this as well, some Ecosports feel really powerful and were eager but mileage was residing low, some were kind of lazy to respond but gave smart mileage.

@1989rs500 - Wow nice explanation, thanks!
I will be parking the car mostly outside due to parking space in the apartment, Has anyone thought of installing the Utrasound Rat Repellent on your cars? I have recently heard of scary stories of rats entering the engine bay, entering from the bottom of the car and biting off wires.

Hello guys.

I was very much confused to choose either figo or elite i 20. As my friends are suggesting to for elite i 20 but my heart always goes for new figo.

I will drive mostly through city accompanied by family members. So friends kindly pour your suggestions please.

noticed my left front door rattling. could easily make out while turning engine on/off. even in the small jerks and potholes. I am really worried, its a second issue within a week of Delivery. does anyone experience the same?

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Took my figo to the office today. My office ride is 26kms round trip with 14kms of open highway and rest is mixed between traffic and empty lanes, no bumper to bumper traffic mostly. Following the run-in period religiously. Not going about 2.2k to 2.5k rpm in any gear. The car does 80kmph on 5th gear at 2k rpm.

Will keep the impressions precise:

Space: Ample of space all around. For reference I am 5.8", I get perfect sitting position. Co-passenger and rear passenger both are relaxed by ample of space and airy cabin. 3 at the back does get a bit cramped because of the tunnel.

Engine: People have been complaining about the engine being lethargic. I differ to say, not because I own it, but it really doesn't feel lethargic. The engine response is perfect for any sedate driver. Even in roads with potholes the car manages to glide over in 3rd gear at mere 20kmph without engine knocking. All observations with ac on. Tried this only a couple of times as I maintain the run-in procedure to keep the car in perfect rpm range and gears. On the highway I am sure this car performs equivalent to the other 1.2 engines we have in India in this segment. The engine makes a sweet sound when pulling from 1k to 2k. Whoosh kind of. Any 1.2 car in this segment will need a downshift on highways when you are in 5th gear. Saying this from my experience with the 1.2 kappa 2 and 1.2k series. Downshift to 4th and even at lower rpms we can feel the urge to move ahead. Still need to check the response above 2.5k, but till then will reserve my final thoughts on the engine performance. For now, I am liking it and it isn't lethargic. The Maruti engine is eager at lower rpms and the i10 kappa 1.2 is okish.

No vibrations. Nvh levels are excellent.

Drive : Its a ford. Even though it doesn't have that hydraulic steering setup, this new eps steering is no slouch. It's a woot to drive this car even in traffic as well as on highways. The steering weighs up significantly. Best car to drive compared my i10 and bros desire. And don't worry about the anti roll bars. I tried nice corners at 80kmph and the body roll is well contained, equals the desire in driving dynamics. The Hyundai i10 has more body roll and I don't dare to put i10 in the corners. (Ps: I am comparing i10 and not grand i10. Engine is same in these two, but the body structure is different which might affect the dynamics)

Mileage: I don't trust the mid. Will do a tankful method once the run-in is done. When you press the accelator, it shows some finite value which is less than 20kmpl, when you release it, it shows 99kmpl. If you stop at a signal with the ignition on, then too it shows 99kmpl. So better to do a tankful method.

For now, this is it. I will come up with a video review for the 0-100 timings and roll ons once i complete run-in.
