Yes these are indeed old tires. Maybe the dealer or warehouse people has swapped with other cars. Insist on 2014 tires only.
Thanks, I already did insist that i need new tyres, my major concern seems to be what else could be the issue, or did they try to STEAL and SWAP few more items from my car? possible

THIS is a very reputed dealer in PUNE, have not heard any issues or bad review about them till date, and guess i may be the first customer having bad experience with them.
the Sales Manager (Senior Person), he seems supportive but ignoring that the fact that this has indeed happened at dealership, and he is saying it is done at VW. and on my various escalation, he mentioned to me on EMAIL that he has escalated to VW.

OR Should i also escalate to VW to PUT more pressure on them?

My this new Car is at my place now (without registration), registration will happen in next 1-2 days.

and if you look at my previous post, they try to sell the May2014 Trendline Polo to me in October with Rs 35k discount + Insurance is mine, so Net Rs 44K discount

I am thinking of escalating it to VW directly at senior level about this issue from Dealer, as this will become clearer if THIS is indeed mischief done by VW or Dealer.
Or please suggest what should be other better approach.

Apologies for asking so many questions, i am newbie here.

Thx,

No problems, we are here to answer all your queries.

Yes I think you should escalate this separately to VW Customer Care. It is unlikely other major parts have been swapped (check the battery also).

Thanks - Anshuman - Highly appreciated.

I already sent couple of strong emails to VW Dealer here in Pune, and Wrote a good email to Mahesh K in VW Company, but he may be too senior.

Can anyone know or put into contact someone could be of help in VW who look into such issues, i am aware that the Customer service team may be very slow in looking into all such things.

Thanks,

Santy,
Good that you have escalated this matter to people in VW. How dare they cheat prospective customers purchasing cars from them with trust. October 2012 make tyres on New brand car purchased in October 2014 is not done. This will directly effect the tyre lifespan & exchange value in case you opt for upsizing them in near future. The tyre might not been used but the rubber tend to loose its properties by time. Do keep all of us posted on the outcome of your mail to VW.

Hi Sachin,

Thanks for your Support, i have sent my fourth email to VW CEO directly, and 2 emails to Customer Care (and their response is as below).

Everyone (both dealer and VW mfg) are celebrating diwali festival with bang and business as usual for them, and here I have paid my Hard earned money and Still Cannot Convince myself why i did bought this car....?
Does the time have come that I should Study and Become "Automobile Engineer" to buy "Cars", Study and Become "Electrical Engineer" to buy "Television & Other Electronics"

FYI - When i buy Iphone from Mobile Company or directly from Apple, they have clear policies, (If something NOT working), come to our showroom and SWAP with a new one in 1-3 months, or whatever that period is, Why that cannot be applied to other products.. Am i insane in my demand? or just bit frustrated and accept that this is how it is and move on?

Hey guys,

Planning to buy a Polo (actually its Polo or none) in the Jan-Mar period. Took a test drive in October and my dad quite liked it though it is overpriced. But when I asked him about weather I can PDI myself, he said "No sir, we do the PDI and ensure you a good experience.". But I've read enough horror stories to not believe him and damn surely, I am not going to let my father sign on the delivery letter till I am FULLY convinced this is a car that is freash from the stockyard. I have no problems if the car is <3 months old as long as it is not used for TD or anything. Problem is, my dad is not that vigilant and wouldn't really mind as long as the car drives good. And they will probably force us into taking delivery since the car has been sent for registration and my dad won't insist much about PDI prior to registration. Also they will not deliver the car till the registration is complete - so I'm in a situation of "aage kua peeche khai" (Well in front and valley behind).

Can anyone suggest what can I do please.

Thanks.

Edit: there is only one VW dealer in town, and if he turns out to be a crook I will stay Polo-less!

Shrid, Its your dad's hard earned money being invested, Dealer can't stop you from checking out the vehicle prior to delivery. The PDI they do is not as exhaustive as the list on the automotive forums like our's. Their check is just a formality.

Take your time properly, Get the car's VIN decoded. If anyone stops you then be blunt on it. I took my uncle's agency SA to task when I went to do PDI of my booked Ertiga and seeing it banged I refused to buy it and took the refund of booking amount.

Do not let him take advantage of being the only VW Dealer.

Before taking car delivery

Hello All,
I am going to takr my Elite i20 this week. i have few Questions to Clarify before to it.

1. Any Thread already here that explains precautions and important points to read before taking acr delivery?

2. Hyundai called me regarding add-ons , Does they really required?

they Said Teflon coating , bottom rust free coating , mats etc all for 10000 which is normally 16000.

3. what are the documents i need to check before leaving showroom.

I may not be the best person to reply to all the questions above though I will share my views.

1. Cross check vehicles VIN number and confirm it's date of prodution and all details.
2. Make sure the car doesn't have any scratches or any other niggles.
3.Make sure electricals are working fine, bulbs etc.
4. And about add-ons, I haven't done Teflon and all, but I had the underbody done from the 3M itself which cost around 3k for 5 year. So if you're not doing the Teflon, get the underbody done separately cause 3k is much cheaper than 10k ;)

Teflon coating is not good, hence not required. Anti rust coating, you can go for.
Isn't the dealer giving anything as free? Mats should come as free accessories.

Yup. Anything that affects the electrical wiring of car is prone to void the standard warranty.

The cheque takes its own time to clear so the dealer would want to get it first. You could consider holding partial amount and pay it in cash on the day of delivery.

If that's the case, tell him to mention same on official letterhead of the dealership. Don't unnecessarily pay for the accessories unless you're interested to buy them.
