Need Help To Decide On a New Car - Booked Fiesta!

I don't have nay idea on Tata Indigo XL Classi. So not commenting on this one.

Verdict:

I will pick Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 Emotion Pack in Hatch back and Maruti Suzuki SX4 VXi in sedan and won't think any further on that

guys - I have a small doubt or rather clarification with respect to the usage and justifying the mode of fuel. I know that Diesel vehicle cost more than a petrol, but the new generation CRDI engines are more fuel efficient and also has roboust build to withstand the high pressure. Wont it make sense to look at the high mileage, lesser price of the fuel & higher resale value of the car into consideration to justify the price? Am i missing something here... This is just for my information and to enhance my knowledge..because even i have mentioned that my travel and usage does not justify a diesel. Food for thought!!!

Fiesta and sx4 will be the best .
Both are good package , fun to drive , and nice comforts.

Dad bought a hatch a year back and sold it as we found luggage space as a big problem. So work on this point too.

So no problem in buying a sedan for city use. A couple of weeks later you will get used to it.

If you are planning for diesel , fiesta has got one and also sx4 will get the diesel version by the end of this year.
Also test drive the ikon.

From my experience in fiesta and ikon diesel version, generally the mileage will be 18 or 19 kmpl @ 90 kmph (2500 rpm)

its like unless you travel/drive more in a diesel car, the high purchase cost of a diesel & the relatively higher maintainence cost of a diesel will not be recovered.

well yes new diesel engines are robust and easy on pocket as well for maintainence, but highly for torque diesel gives, along said that higher cost of ownership of diesel cars are more then petrol and the difference you pay for these diesel cars doesnot justify your driving manner, but if price isnt your priority and torque is what attracts you, nothing wrong to go with diesel engines for sure given higher cost of ownership of these cars.
Do decide on kind of fuel you want to go for further options available.
Recently my friends Fiat Linea multijet gave him 26+ mileage.

yes sir, also i have seen some owners on other forums share those details with pictures of mileage going above 30+ on diesel lineas.

@karthik: I would look to go in for a magnum but my budget cannot accomodate it .. Linea Dynamic crosses my budget by about 50K and it would be tough to accomodate it ... Rather i can go for a punto Emotion Pack which would have more or less all the features of linea. My Dad is obsessed with Fiesta and he is instigating to go in for Fiesta Diesel or Petrol... I would take him for a TD of all the cars which i have listed so that he can get an idea of how other cars behave.Having my fingers crossed till i convince my dad to look outside fiesta. :)

Ford spares and ASS has improved substantially over the years. On top of that, Ford is coming out with a hatchback which will have lots of takers. So Ford HAS to keep the ASS right. You can also opt for the maintenance packages given by Ford. My cousin uses a Ford Fiesta which has done around 1.5 lakh KMs. I can vouch by the car's solid build and reliability. Plus, its awesome fun to drive on the road and you will also get a milage of around 12 in the city with AC on and 16 on the highway (or lesser given the way you drive ), also with AC on.

I think its a no brainer and you should immediately book the Fiesta. Plus you are also getting a very sweet deal. So enjoy the drive.

Fiesta is also very easy to drive in traffic, so you needn't worry about that. Gift yourself a Fiesta and you will have a rewarding Diwali. Opt for the base version and get the car accessorized. That is the true character of the car.

Thanks Dcargod for your suggestion. I am 85% certain that the blank in my signature would be filled by Either a Fiesta 1.6 zxi or 1.4 EXI. The 15% uncertainity is due to my weekend visit to Hyundai Showroom. TD'ed Hyundai Accent and i just fell in love with the car. My dad was also impressed and right now Hyundai Accent is toping the list. I was unable to take my dad to TD the fiesta again, but i think the 15% uncertainty might go off once that is done. Still having my fingers crossed.

BTW, Does your cousin drive a petrol or a diesel fiesta? The mileage seems to be lucrative. What is the average speed maintained?

well no doubt accent is a good car and good to drive, but has its age covered and time for some takeover from company sooner.Given this at current price offer its a good deal with a dated car which is ageing its life.

Hyundai is planning to launch new Accent here very soon, But no official news yet !


If you love it, just go for it as most dont prefer it!

Guys - The 2 month run has come to an end ... Booked the Ford Fiesta 1.6 ZXI Platinum today. Infact my dad was trying to convince me why i should not go for an accent. Paperworks are under progress and the vehicle is already in the stockyard (One of the reasons to select Platinum instead of moondust silver). I have informed the dealer that i would need to see the vehicle before i could start the processing and he had agreed to it. Worst part is Ford would allocate the vehicle only after full payment itseems. Agreed for full payment but registration will happen only after my PDI check. No discounts though ... I am planning for an underchassis antirust coating as i am living in Chennai. He said it would be done in 2 hours time before delivery. Anything i need to ask or settle with the dealer before proceeding further... Team i would need to thank everyone for your inputs and advise for go fida..

Alloys can be added and it is limited to only 14 inchers but tyres cannot be changed and even if i change it should be only 175 profile. If any of this missed then i would loose my warranty on suspensions. Audio system or the speakers cannot be changed and if i want to change i need to do it without cutting any wires ... i dont think it would be necessary at this point of time . Alloys are on the card and let me see how MRF ZV2K behaves on alloys.

BTW, i got an info that MRF is on strike and ford is giving the vehicles with bridgestone or JK tyres.. Is it True?
