I have deffered my decision of purchase till Jan 2010 as could not book it now due to my wife not keeping well as yesterday Radioactive test was conducted. Waiting for the report.

Due to this I am not keeping track of the forum also.

Will be back soon.
It now makes sense to purchase the car in New Year, May be the options at your price range widens by Auto Expo.

Gosh! Don't change your decision. First of all write down at a place what all your requirements are? Will they be full-filled by a hatch back or a saloon will do? How much your running is, Should the car be Diesel or Petrol? and most important what the exact budget is?

Once this is done, Choose your favorite cars and stick to decision. For any help, We are always here.

Yes I know there is no end of confusion.

As no new cars are being launched in Jan so my list remains the same.

I will have to decide from the following:

Honda City
Chevy Optra Magnum
Ford Fiesta
Fiat Linea
Maruti SX4
Cedia Sports

For Honda city only one thing is refraining me from buying this car due to the light body of the car that even a hand punch will give a dent.

Even on dealer is ready to offer me 40 K discount on City.

I would stick to my suggestion. From the requirements which you told, City is the one which suits you and when the prices are rising upwards, It's good that dealer is making the deal sweeter by offering discounts, Also ask for some freebies in terms of accessories etc.

Regarding the Build Quality, Yours is not going to be the only city on road but if still its a concern, Fiesta & Linea have a tough build.

This is the first time i am hearing a thing of this kind. I own Honda City myself and in these 4 years my city has never gone for any denting painting job. Clocked 40000km and no dents till now, just few minor ones since it is mainly used in Crowded City conditions.
If that was the case, the city wont have been a hot seller in its segment since its launch.
No offenses meant but i think someone has given you a wrong feedback about the city.

Well City is not that worse in build quality! You can buy it, its better than many cars available in segment!

I would recommend you to stay away from following cars, Since you have a good budget.
Chevy Optra Magnum
Maruti SX4

Consider buying any of these.
Honda City
Ford Fiesta
Fiat Linea
Cedia Sports

Fiesta is giving lot of offers & Cedia sports has a flat 50K offer!

Based on looks alone, it should be the Linea ... ideally the diesel engine if you are planning on high mileage, and if you can ignore that odd pinprick of bad A.S.S
