Did a 449km round trip to Kochi two days back. The total mileage was 20.4 as per MID with 100% AC and a total of 3 people on board. Top speed of 90km/hr. Decent figures considering the first service is not yet done. Had to encounter lots of broken roads (around 25% of the total distance) and i must say that the car handled them well. Of course the suspension has taken considerable abuse and this will be checked during the first service.

Hi Mora, Thanks for your wishes. Regarding the ride quality and braking abilities, i have already mentioned in my review. The car is really impressive and responds well to braking scenarios. If you ask me to rate Zest with VW and FIAT in terms of handling, i have very little information. Still, I have briefly driven a Punto Diesel and the handling was exceptional to me because the body roll was minimal and the grip levels was awesome may be due to wider set of tyres (195mm) whereas Zest has considerable body roll due to its tall stature. I think Punto scores more than the Zest. No idea how Vento/Polo behaves in terms of handling but heard that they are very good too.

My first free service was done last Saturday. A general checkup and a wash is what they do during the first service.

Issues reported
Front RHS noise from tyre while turning left
Park brake not working properly

Solution
Stabilized rod adjusted and now the sound has gone
Adjusted the brake settings, now its working better

The current ODO stands at 3505 with an average FE of 17kmpl.

Congratulations for the Zest! It looks cool in that shade. Tata should take some efforts to sell this beauty. They give good products,but their after sales destroys it! Hope Tata learns from its mistakes

The installation is very easy as you have to place the baby seat on the rear side and slide the seat belt through the back portion of the baby seat and fasten the latch. There is a video in the above link which explains the installation process.

Got the first puncture last weekend and it was totally unexpected. The front RHS tyre went completely flat. Damage repaired and the ODO now stands @4225kms.

Hi, Where do you service your car in TVM? I too plan to buy a Zest, but hearing horror stories about Kulathungal and Mohandas Motors. Is the service period is 6months/5000KM or 1 year/10000 KM?

Hello, There is a new TML dealer in city - Trivandrum Motors which is near to Renault showroom (i haven't been there so don't know the exact landmark). Mohandas has closed its operation few months back. For servicing you can either go to Focuz motors or to Febin Motors (Neyyatingara). Normal service interval is 15,000kms but the first service will be at 5000kms.

Hi ,do you get any rattling sound from the steering while going through rough roads? my zest is having this problem from the beginning itself,and mohandas motors were not able to solve it.

your dislikes were same as mine but for A pillar, you will get used to it but you have kept the mobile holder near A pillar, wont it be more hindrance?
I been planning for rain visor but been postponing thinking how it will suite.
Can you share some more photo on long shot with visor?
