Today was the final day of my final install. Met Ramie paaji & Amar at Sound Factor yesterday. discussed about the products & the subwoofer box.
My main concerns were-
1) i wanted SQ & not SPL, of course, in my budget.
2) the basstube eats too much on boot space requiring me to remove it everytime. the sub box should be small & should fit exactly between the jump seats.
then yesterday evening i called ramie again to ask him whether he can use leather cover on the sub box. he said its possible but the price put me off. i wanted a beige leather cover for the sub box instead of the black cloth, so that it matches with my car's beige interiors.
So, finally the following install was done today-
1) Illusion Audio EL 6.1 front components - 7490/-
2) Ground Zero 30T subwoofer - 8990/-
3) 1.1 cu. ft. sealed box - 650/-
4) 6 AWG Earthquake Wiring + Earthquake Fuse + Scosche RCA cables - 2700/-
Total : 19830/-
Labour & spacer ring charges extra.
My main concerns were how the Sub box would look. but surprisingly ramie covered the box in beige cloth instead of the normal black & i liked it.
Secondly & most importantly, how the illusions & sub would sound as i needed a SQ setup even if that means its not too loud. i was not too sure about the sub in a such a small sealed box in such a huge SUV.
but the illusions are damn sweet is what i can say! it does not play, it sings! they are the best compos i have heard.
the GZ sub rocks! i have a JBL S644 amp & it is not the most powerful amp around. but even with this amp, the small box & the large car, the bass was too much for me! i played with the HU settings to decrease the bass but even with the bass at the lowest setting, it was too tight & hard for me! then i had to ask ramie to lower the bass!
apart from these, the front compos have been shifted to the rear door. Ajju is a master in cutting door panels & he has flush mounted the speakers on the rear doors in such a way that it looks OE! (the scorpio does not come with speaker slots in the rear door). the entire wiring has been replaced by Scosche & Earthquake.
The job done was perfect & I am totally enjoying my car now. the sound from the compos is awesome & the bass is just perfect, just what i was expecting when i met ramie.
a big thanks to Ramie, Amar, Munna bhai & Ajju... Pics follows-
