Today was the final day of my final install. Met Ramie paaji & Amar at Sound Factor yesterday. discussed about the products & the subwoofer box.

My main concerns were-
1) i wanted SQ & not SPL, of course, in my budget.
2) the basstube eats too much on boot space requiring me to remove it everytime. the sub box should be small & should fit exactly between the jump seats.

then yesterday evening i called ramie again to ask him whether he can use leather cover on the sub box. he said its possible but the price put me off. i wanted a beige leather cover for the sub box instead of the black cloth, so that it matches with my car's beige interiors.

So, finally the following install was done today-

1) Illusion Audio EL 6.1 front components - 7490/-
2) Ground Zero 30T subwoofer - 8990/-
3) 1.1 cu. ft. sealed box - 650/-
4) 6 AWG Earthquake Wiring + Earthquake Fuse + Scosche RCA cables - 2700/-

Total : 19830/-

Labour & spacer ring charges extra.

My main concerns were how the Sub box would look. but surprisingly ramie covered the box in beige cloth instead of the normal black & i liked it.

Secondly & most importantly, how the illusions & sub would sound as i needed a SQ setup even if that means its not too loud. i was not too sure about the sub in a such a small sealed box in such a huge SUV.

but the illusions are damn sweet is what i can say! it does not play, it sings! they are the best compos i have heard.

the GZ sub rocks! i have a JBL S644 amp & it is not the most powerful amp around. but even with this amp, the small box & the large car, the bass was too much for me! i played with the HU settings to decrease the bass but even with the bass at the lowest setting, it was too tight & hard for me! then i had to ask ramie to lower the bass!

apart from these, the front compos have been shifted to the rear door. Ajju is a master in cutting door panels & he has flush mounted the speakers on the rear doors in such a way that it looks OE! (the scorpio does not come with speaker slots in the rear door). the entire wiring has been replaced by Scosche & Earthquake.

The job done was perfect & I am totally enjoying my car now. the sound from the compos is awesome & the bass is just perfect, just what i was expecting when i met ramie.

a big thanks to Ramie, Amar, Munna bhai & Ajju... Pics follows-

Wow Raj nice setup & works too.
I could not believe that Sub can be fitted in that limited space.
Did you change the earlier head unit?
The works has been done professionally.[thumbsup]

thanks buddy. professional installs are expected in ramie's place.

no, the HU is the same.

I am totally happy with this one now, just the right bass i wanted.

by the way, auditioned aditya's car & my car back to back yesterday. both our car has illusions. mine run on JBL while his runs on powerbass. my sub is ground zero while his is sony. my cabling is scosche+earthquake while his is monster cables.

so aditya & arun came to the conclusion that their car had "disco" music whereas my car has "lounge" music! [:)]

The Scorpio gives a lounge like feel. I wonder how Safari will feel like  .

@ raj what is the model no. of your Vtrek compos?and what your review?
Vtrek APS 603 2 way comps.

Review: Its awesome for the price. Its not as good as the illusions or kicker comps i have heard but then they cost more than thrice the Vtrek!

This one plays loud & clear, maybe a tad too bright. Difference between Vtrek & base JBL comps is negligible.

My opinion - If you have a better budget, dont go for this one.

DOWNGRADED MY SCORPIO!

Yes, the amp of my scorpio fried up! Had given the car for servicing & the great A.S.S. guys pressure washed near the amp & it went kaput. Anyways, the car was lying idle after I bought the Punto & so I was in no mood to buy a new amp for it.

So removed the Illusions from the front & the GZ sub from the rear. Now these will go in my Punto.

Added Powerbass 6 inchers in the front door. The rear comps remain the same. But I must say, the powerbass & Vtrek in the car gives a nice punch even without the amp. They are more than sufficient for my scorpio as of now.

Well "one's loss is other's gain"

We will get a new thread of ICE for Pintu.

How on earth did they put water to amp.
Was the Amp below driver's seat?
