Xuv is enjoying the rains and thunderstorms. But it is more parked up than on the road. It still gives me the smile when I press the accelerator. Now days rats are troubling all my cars. But they seem to like the xuv more . I am fighting them with all my might. [evil] . It's not easy to defeat the rats no matter how many tricks you have. I am scared of the ordeal faced by one of the fellow members. Although his xuv is fine now.

Use the rat Cakes (Poison Cakes) I always tie at these points-
Battery/Fuse Box
Wiper washer Fluid bottle
Under seats

Keep in atleast 3~4 Places.
I have seen these cakes being eaten and there is no damage to report. i guess they like the smell of cakes and go for them first rather our wiring/Hoses etc.

Hi,
Cat is the only way to avoid rats completely. If you cant able to maintain it, then there is a device which sound like a cat will also do to avoid rats.
I am using my old model cell phone which will play the sound one minute once.

Hi Mayank, for the rats, sprinkle red chilly powder in good measure in the engine compartment, and see the results, its a sure shot hit.

Regards.

Thanks a lot bhvm, Ambylovers, and Nanofreak for your priceless tips. I think all of you are correct in your approach. I find the red chilli powder coating easier. Regarding poison cakes, what will happen if the rats eat it and die at some other places in the car itself which are not easily accessible?? The old cellphone playing cat sounds idea is brilliant but I don't have a cellphone to put in the car. Cat itself is a nuisance with lots of scratch marks all over the bonnet of each car. But playing cat sounds artificially to fool the mouse is smart idea. But I don't know if it works in reality.Nanofreak your scooter thread is great. I have gone through your thread 3 times. Congratulations for your smart scooter. Where are you living in kanpur. I live in barra 2.

Mayank,
The poison is so designed that the Rat feels Suffocated and runs outside.(as Shown in Ads) I've never had rat die inaccessible but could be a rare occurrence, But just Maybe.

Better approach would be the Chilli powder idea to deter the rat, and if he DOES come in, Just keep a cake in few places to prevent nibbling wires.

The XUV performance always puts a Smile on my face. It Manages to destroy Practically any Premium Vehicle on Todays roads. We Overtook the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe & Merc GLC 250 in this trip. If thats not performance, what is?
Sorry to quote word by word, from fellow TAIger,BHVM.But he is not over exaggerating. Its exactly what I think. This engine is really good. In2014 I did kanpur to vaishnodevi trip. While I was on YEW,in one heady moment ,I accelerated to really bad speeds .My speedometer was at 3oclock position. At those scary speeds the most scary realisation was that XUV was still pulling!!That meant the all the you tube videos shot on mum pune highway are actually true.!!This mhawk is gem.It pulls and pulls and keeps on pulling. But actually I was a real STUPID and FOOLISH person to try it out in real life. What I realised after I slowed down(and I still realise everyday, and regret it) was that just for nothing I put myself and my families life in danger and jeopardy that day on YEW.I couldn't have been more dumb than that. Now I just respect my XUV,and look at it in awe.I drive more sanely than before.

Very well penned, Mayank.

The Point here is to understand and respect the Limits of Man & Machine. With the Modern technical developments, The Capabilities of Today's cars are Far higher than compared to a Human. No Wonder most accidents are due to Human errors.

The Limits do change due to Conditions like traffic, time of day, Heat, Vehicle condition, Road Condition and so on. Its our duty to re-asses the limits each passing Minute.

P.s- you are free to quote my words anytime as needed.

Water leakage from the roof lining ,from inside the sunglass holder,in XUV.
I faced this issue when my XUV was only 3 mths new. This leakage occurs only in torrential rains, especially when the vehicle is moving fast. Water enters from left side of the roof lining, besides the sensors of rearview mirror. Its not a direct fall, but water keeps collecting and is noticed as a trickle or multiple drops when the vehicle takes a u turn towards the right or left with speed.
When showed to the MASS they did a "direct pressure wash on the roof" test, and found the exact 2 points of entry. They said that some rubber beading or rubber- block under the windshield is missing in that area in some batches, and they will rip out the whole windscreen with wire cutters and look into the matter!! When I enquired whether the wind screen will crack on pulling out they said yes it may happen. They asked me to leave my XUV with them for 3 days.for the solution. Like hell I would have!![frustration]
I was so scared of scratches on my new red paint that I did a DIY with fevibond, and its been holding on for more than 2 years.I feel its a generic problem with certain batches and M&M should be proactive for the solution.I noticed my fellow member suffering from the same issue and that's why I felt the need to share my views.[anger]
Manyank, I did notice very slight leakage from Front navigator Door beading. It happens only in very torrential rains, The leakage is like a few drops every 5 sec. Its from the location where drops fall directly near (Thankfully not On) Power window switch. Placed thick cloth on Window switch for now.

I am sorry for you to suffer because of M&M poor quality check.I believe there must me some kinking in the rubber beading on the upper side of door.Look out for cracked rubber or bend in the smooth metal lining of the upper portion of door. You will find the root cause.I was curious, that upper portion of door ,did it ever got banged in an accident, however minor like with a wall while opening in a mall etc??

Tomorrow I shall be travelling to Nashik to get XUV serviced. Its a 175+175 Km trip.

The Main Motto is to get AC working properly. I shall also point out various niggles & Get a full service done as needed. I am also looking to replace tyres with the same stock JK elanzos. I'll also ask em to check door beadings.
What say?
