Hi Knight, glad to see your mileage, by the way, could you please suggest the optimum speed/RPMs to get these figures, is this with AC ON/OFF/intermittent ?

Got a mileage of 22.5km/l during a small highway trip. Took a snap when the meter read 22.4km/l.
OMG, Knight, this is awesome, your'e going to put the diesels to shame huh?[clap]
Btw I'm off for a 600km workout with my jazz on 18th of this month on Kolkata-Mumbai highway, lets see how I fare!!

Cheers

Well harinhs, the trip was completely on highway. I always make sure I dont cross 2000 rpm. and I tried to maintain a constant speed of 60km/hr throughout the journey. I accelerate more only when i need to overtake someone and after that i return to constant 60km/hr speed.
And the A/C was on for 95% of time and I turn it off when i reach some junction where I need to stop. I turn on a/c only when i attain sufficient speed. There were 4 passengers including me.[:)]

Hi Jazzy, lets see how your ride is gonna fare. Try to maintain a constant speed. I always maintain a speed of 60 km/hr. But, you may feel that speed as too low when you drive. Anyways, keep an eye on the instantaneous fuel consumption meter... Best wishes [:)]

Sorry Knight,
I was able to manage only 19km/lt out of my Jazz on the highway(as shown in the pic)...I was driving with ac on, 3 adults & luggage. But I was getting 18 consistently & even 17+ at speeds in excess of 130 (as shown in 2nd pic). Hats off to Honda for this engineering marvel. I wasn't a bit tired when we reached after our 300km ride..

18kmpl even at 140 seems staggering.[:)] Anyways, the ivtec is an engineering marvel. [thumbsup]Btw, hows the car at 140 ? At how much rpm you hit 140? Btw, how is the ride at those speeds? Bumpy like small cars or still pliant? was unable to do cross 80kmp during TD. But, our SA told jazz can go to 160 without any problems. After 160, there will be good amount of noise and vibrations. We wont be crossing even 120, but just eager to know [;)].

HI Akhil,
Thanks for the appreciation. Yes the FE figures took me by surprise too thanks to ivtec as you said. Now, at 140 I wouldn't say that the Jazz is supersilent or anything. There is a bit of noise infiltration from the engine & it is slightly stressed. Its not a 1.8 or 2.0lt engine after all. But what I felt was that it could go easily higher. The rpm was around 4k i believe. So yes 160 is doable defintely but it would be stretching the engine & noise would be there for sure. I should also mention that that the jazz's shape matters a lot on the highway, you can almost feel it slicing through the air. I didn't find it unstable as such, but I suppose there wasn't much of a crosswind when I was driving.

Cheers

i'm new around here ..
had booked my jazz in sept. after a agonizing wait the car was delivered in Dec. from there on its been all smiles throughout. base model, taffeta white. done with 3000kms and two free services. FE is been around 15kmpl.
most of the driving is around ghat region and the lack of low end torque does require lot of gear changes. not deal breaker though.
cheers!

thank you [:)]

i see that your model comes with the rear parcel tray. but not in the base model that i have. i checked with the dealer couple days back but he was not sure of fixing it. he said they come along with couple brackets that needs to be attached. also offered me 4 alloys + the parcel tray for about Rs. 16000/. said it was a Select package. i'm a bit keen on the getting parcel tray. the inside rear looks quite odd without it.

Correct, it does look odd without one. Btw I feel its a good deal getting parcel try & 4 alloys @16000 that too from official dealer..

Congrats on your jazz. Lucky you that you got your car soon I'm still on wait. Can you please upload a photo of your jazz, from the front. Havent seen a single white base/X jazz till now. The select looks a bit different with the chrome. The alloys +parcel tray for 16K seems a good deal. Go for it.
