Oil change is at 10,000 km.There is no compulsion,it's your choice to go for synthetic or mineral

Hi nkonamme,
Its general practice to change engine oil for first service.
This will help to flush away any wear/tear engine metal pieces.
When I went to first service even though I insisted to change engine oil SA is against to it. So I backed off.
Now my grand is nearing 5000km I am in dilemma to change engine oil (mineral). synthetic is only after 10000k else it will ruin engine run in process.
My question is what oil Hyundai use. If it is mineral I will change for 5k. if it is semi synthetic (or any special grade) I may not?

@Turbozone: Hyundai engineers would have tested the car extensively and manual recommends change at 10,000km. So need not worry.
@Dadasheb Ground clearance is 165 cm. But suspension of grand is stiffer than i20 and that helps a lot. Front bumper is prone for scraping at times

in one of the websites i read in the owner review that the battery drain out issue is still there.owners mentioned the problem is still there after software upgrade also ?
is that true ? can we expect the problem to be sorted out in 2014 models?

From nov13 a software update patch has been provided to fix the bug....no more issues whatsoever
However I was keen on getting a dead pedal and aluminum pedal covers installed on my grand i10, can anyone provide info on the same?

@ nkonamme what's the current odo ? Can you just give some information about maintainenance charges on the long term perspective ?

What's the fuel efficiency are you getting ? I heard that b2b traffic, grand diesel gives 13 @ bangalore

My Grand i10 diesel has crossed 30 k kms now,trouble free ownership!!
Service costs are not high, it's cheaper than my sx4 diesel..
Last free service at 20 k kms costed around 2.5 k
Paid service would be around 4 k from now on..
GC issues..I have driven the car on extremely bad stretches of road, GC is not major issue unless car is fully loaded and you have to go through v bad roads. If you drive carefully,GC not an issue even with full load..

Good to hear that you have already done 30k. I have just done 14k kms in a year without any significant issues. Regarding GC one has to be careful while driving especially on steep inclines and declines like ramps. Like I said front bumper is prone to damage.
Dear All, I have purchased my car Grand i10 Asta (O) Diesel last year May 2014. Till now I have driven 19500 km. Great driving experience. But I am also facing the same problem of Auto rest of Trip meter. I went to Service Centre they agree to replace the complete meter and then observe where is the exactly problem is.
