Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

Yes, it be a real 4 seater. Including sliding and reclining effect.
So there will be more leg room in the rear will increased..
i thought of that and getting omni front seat is also not an issue. But it will make the car really a '4 seater' and this could make sitting 3 rd guy in rear seat impossible. right?

I didn't really checked the possibility of modification in Wagon R rear seat. But i am thinking of a reclining 60:40 or in the case of 800 a 50:50 seat:stupid:
Dont want to loose the bench type seat in the rear

Once i tried to change the front seats to new model, coz the stock has a rotating type and the new one using lever to recline the seat.I got a good set of seats too. But i cancelled it becoz the front and rear seat covers will be different and was short of vitamin M to change seat cover too.

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

Me too had same idea in my mind long back but had to drop it as practically speaking the width of the WagonR seats are more than ours so cant be fitted. Also the floor below the WagonR seats are flat ours has fuel tank below it.

Now instead of the WagonR seats, I have taught get omni's front seats which can be easily fitted.
We just need to drill some holes for the seat slider. Also the head rest should be swapped with swift's rear ones as omni's head rest increases the height which touches the roof. [:)]

Hope you liked the idea. Me and SS80 are planning to get this (Vitamin M issues [lol])

BTW what is out of box idea SS80 ?
Is it really difficult to reduce the width of wagon r rear seat? Did you checked the diff in width between 800 and wagon r seat? We can reduce the size of foam, in case of height .right?
None of my friends/relatives currntly owns wagon r now. So unable to check.

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

I had checked it once in our garage,it is bigger, also can fit them mounting is different. Its better we get omni's seats.

If we remove the foam but still the supporting roads / springs will be there so can't cut them.

Most of your DIY's are out of box [:D]
Your idea for the rear seat is something I have never heard of, and you are planning it with proper measurements etc. Out of box means - SOmething new, not copied, well thought Idea [evil]

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

Resurrecting the A/C a bit too late isn't it.

The Rains have started here.

Maybe you can start the project once the rains are over.

Re: My Modified Maruti 800.

Mainly I wanted the A/C for rains as you know the fog which forms inside the car so this will be helpful.
