Hi guys, i need your help regarding tyres and alloy wheels .My car tyres need replacement . I want to upgrade to 13 inches with 165/65r13 tyres with 5.5j alloys. Now the problem is the insufficient budget . New tyres set of 4 with new set of alloys will cost appox rs. 25000. And my budget is upto rs.18000. Now one option is to purchase new set of alloys with atleast 1 year warranty + set of used tyres. I will replace those tyres with new when my pocket allows , me be after 6-7 monthes. What do you say?

Lakkhi, don't compromise on safety. Suggest do it the other way round - go for new tyres now and buy alloys later when your pocket allows.

Hmm, ok guys let's see if i will be able to stretch my budget or will prepare myself to wait for alloys [cry]
Hay guys i have some more questions
Is there i need of spare tyre while using four tubeless tyres ? If yes then should i purchase 5 new tyres or can purchase four new and one used for spare .because alloys are available in set of four and spare tyre will be used in emergency only.

Lucky, spare is necessary for all types of tires but you can take a chance with a used one.

Alloys can be purchased piecemeal. You can go for 5 by all means; but if budget is a constraint, go for 4 new tyres on 4 new alloys.

I think the Wagon R rim is a straight fit on the Alto hub but please do check the PCD.

Instead of upsizing, why dont you go for 165/70 R12? You'll get the looks of the wider tread plus benefits of a cushioned ride courtesy the 70 profile sidewall with negligible change in rolling circumference.

I knew you'd increase your budget[;)].

Car looks cool now. Be careful when you wash these alloys - do not use hard water and blow dry + wipe the excess water (especially the droplets inside the bolt holes) else the water run off marks would spoil the alloys within 6 months. Use good quality carnauba polish on the machined black portion regularly.

I always advise against fitting spacers. Though they do make the setup look cool, they eventually destroy the suspension and hub in the long run without one realizing it till its too late. Picturize this : place a book on your open palm and extend your hand fully ahead of your body - you'd feel some weight but it will be manageable. Now tie the book to a foot long rod and try to hold the rod ahead of your body with the hand fully extended - needless to say the load will multiply and you wont be able to hold it for as long as you were able to in the former case. A spacer does the same thing to the suspension, hub, and steering.

Spacers installed to raise the chassis to solve the wheel scrapping issue . Not the wheel spacers. I mean i have got stiffened the suspension . All other things are original. Rubber spacers on shocker spring .

Veeray, That's not recommended too. Anyways, now that you have got it done, please be careful on the highways and while cornering. Fast cornering is a strict no-no.
