checked with the Delhi dealership for the Honda Brio SMT-New. Got an offer of Rs. 4.77Lacs with accessories like car cover, mud flaps, seat covers thrown in. Do you guys find it good to grab or should I haggle with the dealer for a better offer.

price seems good, generally they give a 10k cash discount on S + insurance free. Rest depends on you what all freebees you can haggle. mud flaps are a part of the new S with electronic ERVM's. car cover is a waste since quality is pathetic. Try for gear lock + the new free maintenance package worth 9k or so.
If they do not agree, try for EW+ RSA as freebees. Also do post the model/price of the seat covers they plan to give you.

I have not checked for the car seat covers they would give me. Is this 10K discount is in addition to the free insurance? For the color part, I am looking either towards blue or UT. I think I need to bargain a little harder. Also does it make much sense to go for the RSA since my daily driving would be less than 20kms. should I opt for some other thing if opportunity permits.

anything free should be welcome. Rs 2k CD seems less since you are buying in december when traditionally sales of car is pretty low and huge discounts are rolled to get in buyers. Try getting quotes from more dealers and use that to your advantage.

Ya.. you should bargain more. Visit 2-3 showrooms and tell them you got a better offer from other dealer. I managed to get Insurance + 42k cash discount for Brio V MT. On top of that, he is giving me floor mats, illuminated side step garnish and reverse parking sensor.

Hello Guys,
I have been an ardent follower of TAI for the last few months now and really thankful to you all to help me to take my decision on buying my first car.

I have just booked a HONDA BRIO 1.2 SMT (new model), colour : Urban Titanium from Kolkata.

After giving the discounts (Rs 5000/- cash discount + Rs 5000/- corporate discount), the dealer has quoted me an On-Road Price of Rs. 4,89,000/-

The freebies offered by them are as follows :
Foot-Mat, Perfume, Tissue Box, Key Ring, Car Cover, Mud Flap and Extended Warranty.

Please share some light as to whether this is a good deal or I am being taken for a ride by the dealer.

price seems on the higher side , maybe the road tax in kolkatta taking a toll on the price. can you provide a breakup of the price?

wrt freebess, you got a good deal. car cover is a waste ( unless you really use it) and you can try to get a gear lock instead ( added safety). They have started a 2 year maintenance package which also is good value for money.

Yes, the road tax is on a higher side in Kolkata.

The breakup is as follows:
Ex-Showroom Price : Rs. 4,64,700/-
Insurance : Rs 1/- (Free)
Road tax and Registration : Rs. 30528/-
Temp Charge : Rs. 3500/-
(This is extra as my place is not in the jurisdiction of Kolkata)
H. P. Charge : Rs. 100/-

Total it comes up to Rs. 4,98,829/-

Deductions :
Special Discount : Rs. 5000/-
Corp Discount : Rs. 5000/-

Net On-Road Price : Rs. 4,88,829/-

Apart from this, Honda is giving me first two services free. Not heard of the two years maintenance package. Need to ask the dealer now.
I am confused between going for Anti-Rust coating or the gear lock..

the tax hurts, even the ex showroom price is much higher than in delhi. The 1st service is free, for 2nd , labor is free but you need to pay for oil topup etc.

The maintenance package has been launched recently and is only applicable while buying the car.

try and bargain for anti rust since your in kolkata and the humidity levels are much higher, also its more expensive than the gear lock. gear lock u can buy later if needed. I have installed autocop as well since delhi is a heaven for car thieves. I got gear lock free.

2, package is for 9800 or so
3. gear lock i got free but it costs about 1500 or so from them, aftermarket should be cheaper, i paid 2800 bucks for autocop, the review and features are in this thread.
