Thank you GM88. :)

I have completed around 750 kms, I'm now capable enough to counter the turbo lag :P

#The engine noise is still too high.
#Gear shifting is now much smoother.
#Everything including clutch, brake feels light.

Have placed the order for seat covers, will get in a week.

Thanks RK sir.

Completed 1000 km's today. FE is around 16 within city, didn't go outside on highway much so can't say about that right now.

+ Engine sound has been reduced a bit.
+ Drive is more smoother now

- The car goes on the left when I remove my hand from the steering while driving.

Re: Memory Pull; Steering Problem

Dear Friends,

Thanks to all of you for the valuable inputs. I took the car on a highway for a quick test. Basically, the car was very sensitive to road crowning even at high speeds - 100 kph. To my wonder, the VW service guys had filled the left front tyre with 39 PSI to repair the left pulling the last time I visited them. Anyways, after readjusting all the tyre pressure, the car was still exhibiting the same issues...I sent a stern email to VW service manager, area manager and cc on this negligence.

I spoke to VW Service about the problem. I was scared by their reply that they may have to work on the steering column - even dismantle some parts and check. The reason I was worried because once these components are opened up and reassembled, they wouldn't be as good as the factory-fitment. Hence I gave a last try...went to a non-branded roadside wheel alignment shop.

I told the technician all the problems and he test drove the car. I also told him that I had got the wheel-alignment done a number of times and that the service center guy had laterally rotated the front right tyre.
These were the things he did:
1. The right front tyre was completely out of alignment. Perhaps toe-out on right. He aligned it.
2. Then he swapped the front right tyre with the rear right tyre.
3. He ruled out any problems with the power steering and suspension systems.
4. He test drove the car again. All problems were resolved!

VW guys though had done the alignment a number of times, they had actually not done it properly.

The mechanic has advised me the followings:
1. VW increased the ground clearance using metal (probably, steel) spacers. These have affected the riding comfort. This I had been noticing in the car right after this work was done by them. He showed me rubber made spacers that these people are mounting for comfort and GC increase. Using these spacers on all 4 wheels would cost 7000 INR. VW has fixed spacers on the right suspensions only.

2. He also advised me to replace the Apollo tyres with any one of the following brands: Michelin, Bridgestone or MRF after 5000 KMs.

3. To maintain 30 PSI in all tyres rather than 32 PSI or 33 PSI for comfortable ride and handling.

I'm driving the car now. It goes dead straight with minor deviations according to the road crowning.

Mistakes that I did in the last 4 months: :bangh:
1. Relying too much on VW guys - their wheel alignment, air pressure, suspecting my brilliant car's suspensions, and even steering.
2. Should have at least once checked the air pressure according to YOUR advise rather than trusting on VW guys.
3. Should have checked the wheel alignment with a NON-BRANDED guys. They are smart people too.
Hence no suspension, opening of steering column assembly, power steering, and worn out tie rods (VW).... .

Thanks again to all of you to help me build up my knowledge base.

)

- Got a little scratch on the car body near the right front tyre while taking reverse [cry]. Some moron parked close to my car even though there was enough space in the parking area.

Got my leather seat covers for my girlfriend yesterday from CARZY (https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=201594645343947922678.0004dd1050639e8b6be02).
Costed me around 8800/- with 2 years warranty. The brand name of seat covers is TATTOO.

Starting the work..

All seats removed. Those are the mats I got by default and below it are the 3d kagu mats.

Stitching the seat covers.

Installing the seats..

Better and full size pics : http://imgur.com/a/53MHC

I'll more clear pictures of the seat cover later on. Meanwhile, the car has completed 1200 kms without any niggles. [clap]

I have a request eXperience. Please upload better pics of your new seat covers preferably in bright daylight. Though from what i can make out from this set of pics, they do look good. And happy to know your Polo is doing fine in the initial run abouts. Any road trips planned to feel this beauty out on the highway? And have you faced any problem with the Polo's ground clearance, scraping of the underbelly?
